To take a break or not take a break

Published

I am in my last semester of an ADN program. I already know I am going to continue my education and obtain a BSN and then a MSN. My question is should I wait a year and develop more knowledge and experience in the field before pursuing my BSN? Or should I began working on the BSN in the Fall after I graduate?

I would just keep on going. Employers aren't always flexible for getting time off for classes.

I'm close to graduating, too. (God willing and the creek don't rise.) I would love to just keep on a goin', but I need to take a break to spend time with the kiddos and hubby and just enjoy my success. I'm also going to need to get a new job, so I know I'm going to need to spend time getting used to that as well. So, that being said, I really have no advice to share. LOL. I just wanted to commiserate with you. :)

Got my RN in June and started taking BSN classes that same summer. I'm glad I did it that way because I was able to work full time and take classes part-time. To me the BSN program was more about honing my craft and nothing like the pressure of the LPN or ADN program.
