I am sorry if anything i said prompted you to write your post..that was not my intention, when i found this BB. Also i am not a young eater!! Frustrated at times yes but no canabalism here!

I wasn't pointing any fingers, and nor was it any single post that prompted my post, but as one of the repliers to my post said, you guys need a place to vent and be able to speak your opinions, I just won't read the catty posts!

Thanks for the post here. I can say that I feel much better now, as since the original LPN discussion I just was so taken aback by the responses I got. I am guilty as well, for responding without thinking. But as you know, when things turn personal, it's hard to keep it from escalating.

Know that I did not mean to offend, my question was genuine. My apologies for hurting your feelings in any way.

So, truce it is. I think we will disagree on alot of things, as you and I seem very different, however, that does not mean that we can't continue to discuss and appreciate each other's experiences.

I dont feel we are so different. I to came from a strict catholic background, pulled away as i got older, now i am a christian. I know you probably wouldnt have thought huh! from the way i spoke to you i to questioned it myself..

I also feel when it comes to nursing we think alike. Patients first, improving the nursing profession, pt care, staffing, encouraging nursing and getting new blood to join in, so you see we are not so different there. I also feel that i owe you an explaination of why lpn! Started out as an aide did that for years hated it. Wanted more out of life decided to go back to school. Best choice i ever made, because i knew then what i truely wanted and that was to be a nurse. I started back to school my daughter the youngest, was only 1 years old. My husband has always been very supportive but i was so consumed with school i put my family on the back burner so to speak, and consiquently i almost lost him. I had to look at my life and decide what was more important to me and i chose my family.So i got my lpn and started working and i have been satisfied thus far. I am starting back to school next year, you know family older now will be much easier less stress to deal with because they need less of my time . I am only 36 and let me assure you i dont feel it at all. I am ready to continue.. I guess i just cant get enough of it!!!

You see nursing comes from all walks of life, but in the most part trying to get to the same place! thanks again Alicia

I know this post didn't have my name on it, but it's nice to see people can explain themselves, and get along I have always tried to avoid discussion among the LPN vs RN issues. It always seems to turn ugly somehow? Truthfully, I have seen NA's that are way more intelligent than some RN's, and would prefer they be my nurse. What's the point? Point is........who cares as lng as they are good at their job!!
