Hi everyone! I have a few questions:
1. Are opportunities limited in Louisiana?
2. Are there hospitals in Louisiana that have the tuition reimbursement for ADN RNs to go back for their BSN?
3. Is there a difference between an RN and CNA?
Thank you!

No.
Yes all that I know of offer reimbursement.
Yes there is a huge difference between RN and CNA.
Get your ADN. Work as a tech/CNA while in school. Get a job. Bridge to a bsn.

Ms. OnOn2RN thank you for your response! I was discussing an education route with my brother and he claims he has never heard of a hospital give tuition reimbursement. I just wanted to ask the nurses here if they know if all or certain hospitals give tuition reimbursement. Also, I would like to ask what is the difference between an RN and CNA ( since my brother does not believe there is a difference between the two positions)
Thank you Ms. sissiesmama! I was wondering if you knew which hospitals have tuition reimbursement?

Just a point of clarification. "Tuition Reimbursement" is part of the standard benefit package in hospitals. It is generally a pre-determined amount per year...... it is very unlikely to be sufficient to pay for your entire tuition. It can range from
A CNA requires a very brief (as short as 6 weeks) vocational training course & a 'certification' test. It is NOT a professional license. It's VERY different than completing a nursing education curriculum (3 - 5 years) and passing the RN professional licensure examination. So - you can certainly straighten out your brother!
Use google. Scope of practice of an RN and a CNA is huge. All the major local hospitals offer tuition reimbursement and or student loan repayment plans. Your mileage may vary at the different hospitals.
