To all you New Grad NPs

Wondering how the job market is looking for you? Where do you search for open positions? I am sure this varies by state (I am in California) but I would be curious to hear how things are looking throughout the United States as well as CA.

So far my impression is that jobs are limited and it is difficult to find an MD who is willing to supervise the 520 hours needed to obtain a furnishing number.

Anyone else having a different experience?

That 6 month waiting period for prescriptive authority is a real barrier, as most jobs want a furnishing license as well as national certification.

I completely agree with this. I wonder if the ANCC and AANP really know how much they are holding us up and delaying entry into the workplace ?

The prescriptive authority is a state-to-state issue isn't it? I thought different states that different regulations for prescriptive authority. I have reviewed Nursing Board guidelines for my state and wasn't seeing anything about a 6-month delay for prescriptive authority. Thanks in advance.
