I am a registered nurse in the Philippines and is thinking of working abroad, preferably USA. I am in the process of the NCLEX etc, no problem with that. Although I suddenly had second thoughts of wanting to pursue this or not. What I'm trying to say is maybe I'm scared of being homesick and being independent for now. I know how good my life will be in working in other countries but there's something that's stopping me from leaving. Should I still continue this challenge? or just stay here and live normally? (I think the answer is pretty obvious but I want to hear your opinion and support)
Thanks in advance.

Most US hospitals have large Filipina communities and you will find that everyone has dealt with this issue at some point.
You can keep in touch with family via Skype, etc.
One thing I have noticed working in both US and UK is that the UK based Filipinas are happier, they get far more vacation time and get to go home at least twice a year if they want to. Some even work block shifts, for example, 3 months on and 1 month off, so they get home often.
US based nurses do tend to stay, but in my opinion never seem as happy.
just my 2c worth, but my suggestion would be to plan to stay for a set time, maybe 5 years, and then make a decision towards the end of that time whether to stay or head home.
