To all CALIFORNIA NCLEX PASSERS CAUGHT IN THE RETROGRESSION LIMBO!

Hello my Friends who had passed the NCLEX RN in California but are overseas base,

We are all asked for an SSN, Ok , but how can we gaurantee that with in three years we could supply them with a SSN which we are having a hard time coming to USA due to retrogression? What are the things we should do to speed up our chances in complying them? We all know that if we will not be able to comply the requirements we would be taking the NCLEX again, and its not our fault that we failed to comply, Right?

Can we lobby this to the Board? Just asking them for a consideration while waiting for our priority date to be current. Why is it that other states issued RN #'S while we from California state haven't any?

The issue is retrogression and also many US nurses are struggling to find work therefore employers are not willing to wait the several years or pay for H1b which is a specialised work visa.

Thank you for the prompt reply! was'nt expecting anyone to be reading this thread, its been awhile since the last discussion. but very informative in some ways. But cutting o the chase, the agency is in manila, philippines who is helping us process her california nclex exam to new york. Im still weary in this process on how they will be able to get her a new york license. And hve been very busy with work and its difficult to contact the new york office late in the day. been stressful the past 3 mos trying my best to think a wah through this. Are there any sponsors out here in the US that can help us?

Very few sponsors, since the wait is over 5 years, if you are in a serious relationship getting married will reduce the time from months to years for her to get permanent residency and a social security number. She can not work on a tourist visa.
