TO ALL RNs WHO'VE TAKEN NCLEX MORE THAN ONCE

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I failed the Nclex in July, I will be giving it again in october for 2nd time.

So, my question to those RNs, RNs to be who have taken the test more than once........How different was the NCLEX-RN test from the first time you gave it compared to 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc........times.

Please, kindly shed some light???

Thank you.

hey matilda50.........today is your day.....i am praying for you and please do let us kow how the test goes, the difference between the prevoius tests as well ok.........you have been such a support, thanks for being there.

i also know how each one of you who have taken the NCLEX and failed feel. I took it twice and failed both times, I am retaking it for the 3rd time OCt 23rd. I have been praying, reading the bible and doing questions from Saunders. I will let you know what the outcome is when I find out. Good luck to all who will be taking it and congrats to all that have passed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will keep all of you in my prayers and I ask the same.

Cash, you can do it......all my best wishes and prayers to you.

Congratulations to everyone who has passed recently!!!

I am looking to sit this next year in order to nruse in the US.

May I ask some questions...

How many questions are there?

What is the pass rate?

Is there a limited to the number of times you can take the NCLEX or a limit to the period in which you take it, i.e. not more than 2 tests in 6 months.

Would appreciate your advice

;)

I am sad because those retaker RNs who passed the test, dont give a damn once they pass. We keep them so much in prayers and they dont even want to write a paragraph or two explaining "How different the test was each time they gave" .......how was the 1st, 2nd , 3rd in comparison......for example if they heavily asked you on endocrine system or Obgyn on first test......... were you still heavily tested on those. How about priority questions on all your 3 tests......were they equally tested or not........Your study strategies that did not help before.......what helped this time etc.......please share it with all of us who have failed.

After a long battle to get motivated to study again, my 2nd try test date is set on Dec 14th 2007. I must make it this 2nd time. Any suggestion are welcome

I don't think it is as much as they don't care but that they are relieved it is finally over. Very hard to describe how hard/easy the exam is as each is individual and very hard to predict what sort of questions you are going to get. Many have also posted on what helped them to pass. I am sure you will do it next time just keep up the revision and if struggling take a break even if it means a night/day off and then get back there studying.

Questions range from 75 to 265. Hard to predicate pass rate as the exam is CAT and questions individual but it is harder for a foreign trained nurse to pass than a US trained individual. Depending on BON depends on a limit of retakes, some BON's have none where others have 3 and if you don't pass then you have to do a course before they will let you resit. Some states also require a wait of 45 days where others you have to wait 90 days if you fail and before you can resit

does anyone know how many times u can retake the NCLEX in CA....???

i took it for second time today and i don't think i made it..... cuz i got 265 questions...and i think my answer for the last question wasn't correct....

Giving up is not an option we can afford. I talked to my nursing instructor who is very helpful. She suggested me that I should at least give 10 days X 100 questions = 1000 Q if I have time constraint......otherwise 30 days X 100 Q. She also suggested me "Saunders strategies for success", have you tried that book.

I took it twice... Don't have results from second time yet, but first time 190 questions and mostly cancer... Yesterday's exam was 230 questions and a mix of everything, but a lot of pharmacology, and at least 12 select all that apply... Who gets that many of them. UGH...

Anyway... still crossing all the fingers and toes, but... :-(

It should be on their website. Many people pass with 265, I did also failed on 265, and also doesn't matter if you got the last question wrong. Try and relax whilst waiting for your results and Good luck

hello everyone. i know it says rns but i thought i should share my experience since i'm still trying. first attempt july 75 questions, i knew i bombed it because i wasn't taking my time and was a nervous wreck. second attempt september 265 alot of pharm, i felt numb coming out of this exam. i thought i had done better than the first attempt because the computer kept going therefore i was doing something right. third attempt october 265 i'm still waiting on the results. i walked into that test feeling confident that i had done everything in my power to prepare. first half of the exam was good, the questions kept changing topics and kept getting harder and harder. then 80-100s i started to get alot of select-all and pharm questions. i knew going in that pharm was my weak point so i studied pharm much more than other topics. i just felt like no matter how hard i studied pharm the questions they gave me were off the wall. i've just been praying and waiting for my results. hopefully i'll have good news later today.

i passed and thank you to everyone for all your prayers and support. now i'm going to help one of my friends study for her boards in december. goodluck to future test takers. it's not impossible but yours to have!!!!
