TNCC

I wanted to buy a TNCC book to start studying, however I was told to hold off. Apparently there is a new edition coming out. Has anyone else heard this? I'm just a little bit eager to start!

I have a sixth edition book (copy right 2007). Not sure if anything is changing, but I am re-certing with this book in Nov.

I just re-certed last month- also with the 6th edition version.

Pretty sure the 6th is the new one, but I could be wrong! Just certified for the first time with it last weekend, and mine is the "6th Edition, Revised Printing." (Ironically, I had helmeted football kid roll in as a patient this weekend, via EMS on a backboard, NO c-collar ... arghhh. I said, "Aha! I can manage this! ;))

The 6th edition is the new one.

Thanks everyone!!!

if you are certifying soon you need the current book (6th). If you are thinking to wait till 2010 then contact Emergency Nurses Asso to get the facts about new editions. My guess is they would not be available for many months.

The 6th edition just came out and in some places they only just now completed the instructor update. And there has been no mention of any other changes in my course notes. But stranger things have happened. You can get the book right from the ENA website or from Amazon, etc. There was a delay earlier this year in getting the books.

As a TNCC instructor/director and course faculty, I can assure you that6th edition is the current one for at least the next 3 years. There is no major work on a revision right now and as one poster already said, some localities, just finished getting updated to the 6th ed. recently.

So you're good to go on the 6th edition - you have my word on that.

PS: Only buy from ENA the other places (Amazon etc) have people marking it up for crazy prices!
