I have passed my NCLEX - and working on expediting the visa screen. Just concerned because I was educated in the USA for nursing and before that spent several years overseas - so no property in Canada. I've read online about other RN's being denied a TN at the border - and just wanted to make sure I dot all my i's and cross all my t's
Ok well there are many things that are needed in order to qualify for a tn status and i think in your situation the problem is gonna be that your schooling was done in the USA because in order to apply for a TN as a Canadian citizen you need to have a bachelors degree and i am not sure if that's what you received from the US that can also mean why the others you read about got denied
I'm fairly certain that being licensed as an RN in the USA qualifies me for a TN status. I've got almost all my ducks in order, was just wondering if the TN Visa Expert was beneficial or if I can save myself $125 by just gathering the info myself.
You need a BSN to qualify for a TN visa. Most have done TN visa on own with letter of employment offer. Do you have a Canadian RN license & BScN? Or just a U.S. RN license? You must have a BSN, RN license alone is not sufficient to qualify

Maybe I should clarify - I'm a Canadian, licensed in the USA, have a job offer in the USA, getting a TN Visa to enter the USA to work. I realize you need a BSN to work in Canada if you are from the USA - but it's my understanding that because I was educated in the USA, passed the NCLEX in the USA, that the free trade agreement allows me to work in the USA, as a registered nurse - regardless if I have a BSN or an ADN.
i understand your situation because you do have proper credentials to work in the US But the question is do u have the right credentials to get a TN visa ex. No BSN degree your best bet would be to apply for your visa screen and when get it go to the border and see what they say? what state did you write your NCLEX for?
I have a degree - it's just an ADN-RN. I think, although I should double check somewhere, just in case, that it's foreign born nurses that need to have a BSN to be granted a visa to work in the USA - Canadian's are not considered foreign because of the free trade agreement.
You are a foreign nurse as you are not a U.S. Citizen.
