I have a question. I took the LPN Nclex on may 29 and I got the dreaded 205 questions. I checked with the Tennessee department of health to see if they issued me a license but I keep getting - Unapproved applicant and application in process. Does that mean I failed? I also tried the pearsonvue trick and I am afraid it went to the credit card payment screen. I guess I failed. If I did fail would it show it on the TN license website or will it sill say unapproved applicant?

Sounds to me that they are saying they didn't approve the school you graduated from maybe? I've never heard of that, what is happening to your other class mates?

Perhaps they are just in the process of updating rhinos. I know it's tough, but give it a few days.
Well I decided to pay the quick results thing and I discovered that alas I had failed the test. Which doesn't really surprise me per say. Everything I studied was nothing like the test so I felt under prepared. At least when I take it the second time I will have a better knowledge of what it is like. I am still unsure why the TN license site would still say Application in progress if I would not be receiving a license. It is a very poor choice of words that gets people's hopes up, if you ask me.

I know this is an old thread, but I just want to say that seeing "Unapproved Applicant" is normal for TN. All applicants are listed on the TN BON licensure website with this status until they are issued a license. If no license is issued then it will continue to say "Unapproved Application" and "Application in Progress." I have a friend I graduated LPN school with who's status has been this for 3 years because she has never passed the NCLEX. I just passed the NCLEX-RN on friday and my status is still "Unapproved Applicant" on the TN BON website, because my license # has not been issued yet even though I passed. Usually takes the TN BON about a week to issue license numbers after taking the test.

Well I would like to thank you for posting this because I took the NCLEX Tuesday and I have the "unapproved applicant" status. I wasn't sure if I had passed because it cut off on me at 85. I took the PN so that could mean I passed or failed really bad! But anyway your post helped me a little, still nervous though!

What if it says "closed application"?
