Please tell me that I am not the only one who is stupidly nervous about checkoffs. I am only taking my CNA class right now until the LPN classes begin, and every stupid little checkoff makes me a bundle of nerves and I stumble all over myself and look ridiculous. I am so scared that if I am this stupid doing the CNA checkoffs that I may kill myself when I move on to my LPN classes. OH PLEASE tell me that this too shall pass. I keep telling myself that I will get better, but what if I don't. Oh me oh my, I shall surely DIE:eek: !!

It's natural to get nervous, in fact, if you weren't nervous I would think something is wrong with you. The key is practice, practice, practice...know the skills like the back of your hand, because they only get more difficult as you advance in your education!

Good luck!!!

Isn't testing awful? And having someone watching everything you do makes it worse than a written test anytime!

You sure aren't alone with the nerves. Try to pay attention to yourself when you start feel the nerves coming on. Take a deep breath and hold it until the count of 5, then slowly let the breath out. As you let the breath out, think, "Relax and Let Go!" Do this a couple of times.

Also, there's an accupressure point just behind your ear and slightly down. It feels like a small boney place that kinda feels like an upside down comma. Tap it gently with your finger several times and it helps release some nice endorphins (happy hormones) that will help you relax.

Next, remember that you ARE prepared. You are just afraid of failing. It's the fear that's choking you up, not your preparation. And, finally, remember that the person checking you off WANTS you to succeed and is silently, in their heart, helping you along.

You'll do great! You know how I know this and have never even met you or heard of you before? I know this because I can see that you CARE about passing, so I know you have the will to succeed.

Relax, and let go. :)

I was nervous at first for check-offs.. they do get better, less nerve racking with each one.. and practice does help!:)

You are not alone. Just breath..........

I have to agree with all the above...BREATHE OUT! I promise it helps! ;)

I also agree...just breathe! And study the heck out of your checkoffs so you're able to do them in your sleep! That will make you less tense b/c you will actually know what you're doing!

It was so funny on our first checkoff we were paired up. The girl that was with me said that my face turned so red and that I didn't even breathe throughout the whole thing.

It is not just you by any means! I almost wanna puke when people are watching me do stuff . . . especially while the state is at the facility or I am being whatch do something that can affect whether I can keep my job or not. i love my job, and I dont want anything to happen that would take me away from it.

Oh my goodness....you are going to look back on these days and laugh. What seems so difficult now will be old hat a year from now. Keep your chin up and realize it'll be over before you know it!!!!:kiss
