I am a new grad looking for any tips from other nurses. Anything that i should know as a new graduate starting in the field. Please feel free to include any pet peeves that you see new grad nurses doing etc.
Also any books or supplies that you would recommend to have on hand.

As a new grad you should remember that denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance are the five stages of waking up to go to work.

New grads need to learn different skills for different jobs. I think all of them can use a bit of psychology, but not sure you can really "study" that to learn.

Once you find out where you will be working, find alternate routes and backup transportation; you have to be on time.
Don't worry about buying a lot of supplies right away, but if you don't have good shoes, start looking around now. Same with blackout curtains and a source of white noise if you will be working nights.
Plan how you will feed yourself if you work 12 hour shifts. A lot of my coworkers love their slow cookers, or cook extra on days off. You need real food and proper nutrition to thrive.
