tips for nclex exam

Published

Hi everyone,

As a new grad, I am preparing for the nclex exam here in Maryland. I am pretty confused. I would like to know how you guys studied to pass the board exam? What was helpful, did you have to take a review course like Kaplan? Does it worth it?

I would also like to know if you entered a fellowship before passing the nclex?

Your answers would much appreciated and would ease an anxious fellow.

Have you had a look in the graduate forum, they have lots of questions relating to the NCLEX

I graduated May 2004 and took my boards on Monday. I found out my results on Wednesday and I passed! I have to say Kaplan Review was a big help. I paid $300 for the book and disc (1000 questions on question trainer). This was a big help and the questions were written very similiar. I suggest taking the boards as soon as you graduate and finish the kaplan review if you take it. It was a big help. I teaches you how to answer the NCLEX style questions. I have the book and disc if you are interested. Just contact me. Good luck on the exam. As you know they have upped the passing level as of April 2004. Good luck to you!

Hi to all! I'll be graduating soon, and would like to entreat your help on which audio cd's would be best for NCLEX review? Second hand would be better, please let me know where I could get them. I'm a struggling mother of two... fervently want to pass in one take.... would appreciate information. Thanks!

Keep in mind that this thread is over two years old. Check out our NCLEX Discussion Forum for more information on preparing for the NCLEX.

I took Kaplan in 2004 and few days later took the boards. Had 75 questions and passed first go around. I found Kaplan to be extremely helpful with the NCLEX, but not the GRE.

Focus on priority and application. If you see a lot of priority questions, more than likely you are doing well. Good luck.
