time for a change florida or nj?

Published

Hello,

I am currently working as an LPN in a LTC facility in central jersey. I don't see any opportunities opening for LPN's. No more MDS, Case Mgmt or Pharma. It seems everyone wants RN/BSN.

So, considering going to Brookdale CC for my ADN (which is still not great but better than nothing) or moving to Florida Ft. Laudy-Miami area, where I've always wanted to live.

Anyone working LPN in Florida? What are the opportunities, pay, cost of a nice 2 bedroom condo in a nice area?

Any help would be appreciated

I just moved from Florida, the weather is beautiful, but the pay is nothing. I heard that NJ was one of the high paying states for LPN's.

As an LPN I took a drastic pay cut moving to Florida from northern state.

Hello, I def must say that Florida really had no LPN jobs and the ones I got the year there payed under $18 an hour and thats overnights. I left DC making $27 hr to go to school in Jacksonville for my RN but had to return here because I needed to work....dont go to Florida...sorry

Stay where you are at the pay is not worth it. I just left Florida.....

Healthcare facilities in most parts of Florida pay new grad RNs in the low $20s per hour. It is one of the lowest-paying states when one takes the high cost of living there into consideration. However, you'll be paid in sunshine!
