  1. Thanks so much for your reply. I am assuming you went on a Sat and did your homework during the week after work? Did you work full time? Just wondering how much homework there is. If it's anything like LPN school it's a lot!! i am curious if it is considered full time because I would need to get a student loan and I was told that you must be a full time student. Do you mind telling what the program is called so I can look into it? PS is this AFTER the pre req's? thanks so much for giving me a little hope :)

Hi DN RN, i am an LPN with clinical and administrative experience. I am currently enrolled in school for EHR and ICD-10. I was wondering what kind of facility you are in and did the LPN you work with have experience? I'm just trying to figure out what direction to move towards when I get my certification in 5 months. Any advice would be appreciated! PS I'm located in New Jersey and am wondering what the salary is for that type of position also.
  3. Thanks again Just Beachy! You are a wealth of knowledge :))) Hope you are having a great summer.
  4. Hello, I haven't found anything posted recently. I am an LPN working in NJ and want to maintain my NJ license, but also be able to work in NY. Do they offer reciprocity yet or would I have to apply for a license in NY also? Is there any testing or requirements involved....also does anyone know how long this might take? Thanks so much!!!!
  5. Jules A, Did you have a "flexible" job that allowed you to do your classes and clinicals? Most jobs won't allow time off if clinical are required all day at a hospital I'm very interested to hear your feedback if you wouldn't mind sharing! Thanks
  6. just beachy, Can I ask what you mean by Burlington is simple? Also if I go to another county will I have to pay extra $$ because I'm not a county resident?
  7. Thank you just beachy. I believe this program just started. I know a lot of friends had to go to Brookdale because OCC wasn't offering it. Maybe I should just post a general question regarding LPN to RN at a community college and ask if it's possible to complete while working more than 16 hours? PS I'm so tired of this rainy weather. This summer has been very wet
  8. I was reading the OCC nursing program description and it suggests that you work a MAXIMUM of 16 hours per week. Do you find this accurate? Is it possible to go from LPN to RN while still holding down a job? I have a mortgage to pay
  9. Thank you again for taking the time to reply !!
  10. I suppose the question I really have is do I have to search for grants myself or are they automatically offered (if available when you fill out FAFSA)? People have told me to go online, that there are so many grants available that most are not aware of. I appreciate everyone taking the time to offer guidance!!
  11. thank you so much for your advice. I will fill out my FAFSA and speak to someone in financial aid :))
  12. I was working for a pharm company that was bought by another company. I was one of many let go. So yes, I am now unemployed. The problem is that if they go by my taxes, I WAS employed in 2014
  13. Hi All, Just hoping someone can help. I live in Ocean County and I'm very interested in going to Ocean County College to obtain my RN. I own my home and I'm single so I have to work to pay my mortgage and bills. I have heard there are grants available to help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
  14. Thank you both for the information. I thought it might be too good to be true. Have a nice evening :)
  15. Hi everyone, I just read an article about nursing licenses becoming "unified" so you are able to practice under one license in any state. Is there any validity to this? If I am correct there are also states that joined with other states that will allow you to practice without obtaining a separate license for another state. Does anyone know if New Jersey is one of those states that participates? Thanks!!!!
