Does anyone know if we get new student ID's? Like ones that say Nursing Student on them or something? I have one & it is really awful, so I am thinking about "misplacing" it & getting a new one. Don't know how I feel about walking around with that picture on my badge lol! But I wanted to make sure first before I do that.

do they include all grades(like history,government) or just the ones that you need to apply for the nursing program.

I believe all grades are considered as far as GPA, but the point system for courses is only based on co-requisites, with special emphasis on the sciences.

For anyone who hasn't applied yet and will be doing so for Spring admission, I still had Ethics in progress and didn't have a problem. I also CLEP'd both Intro to Psych and Develomental/Child Psych about a week before the app deadline. I studied for each CLEP exam just a few days and passed both just fine. For anyone with Psych classes left in a time crunch, I highly recommend the CLEP exams!

Hello! I just came across this thread... and I am so glad there's a recent thread for TCC Nursing Students of 2015. I put my application in for the second time in Feb 2015 and I was selected as an alternate. I really hope to get lucky and pray a spot opens up for me. I was denied the first time that I applied which was for Spring 2015, but I was so happy and relieved to have received that letter letting me know that I am an alternate for Fall 2015. Wish me luck!

I just wanted to also say that I've followed you on here, too, and would also like to say how encouraging you are. If I don't get in this second time around, well maybe it's true what they say - third time's the charm. Thanks for keeping us updated and informed with this whole process. :)

Good luck to you all ladies!! Please don't get discouraged if any of you get chosen as an alternate. I know this for sure because I was an alternate so there is hope! Enjoy your free time because best believe the majority of your time will go into nursing school! :)

I was in the office at TCC (Portsmouth campus) the councilor told me that they have increased the minimum GPA to apply to the nursing program from 2.5 to 3.5. Something to keep in mind. Looks like I will need to retake a few classes, if I want to apply.

Hi everyone! Long time no talk!

For those who have been accepted for the fall, I suggest starting your check list now. The online certified profile is a bit complicated and takes a few days to approve each uploaded document plus the background check will take a bit as well. Also the physical will take you two weeks to complete. 4 trips to my doctor in 2 weeks for the PPD test. Hope you all are enjoying your summer, see you in July :D
