Hi All,

I already know there's a thread for TCC; however, I decided to start a new one.

I plan to apply in the fall. My application has been submitted and my transcripts are on the way :yeah:

I am totally excited. Is there anyone else applying this year?

How is everyone funding their education? Due to my previous undergraduate degree, I have exhausted my financial aid. So, I will be on the payment plan :p God will work it out for me!

Hope to hear from future TCC RNs :nurse:

Be Blessed guys...

What chemistry are you taking? I would switch that to the fall and take English this summer... More time for that one. You can take MANY, if not all (except labs) online. I would recommend going that route. Do you have kiddos?

Good luck!

I am actually going to MCI in Va Beach. TCC has given me too many problems in the past, so I switched schools and have been getting along at MCI much better.

However good luck to you! I hope it works for the best!

Yes...I have kids but they are 20, 20, 18 & 16. I just wanted to make sure that schedule sounded feasable. So I should switch Chem (college) to the fall, huh? I will do that. For the labs I would just have to go to the college to do the labs, correct?

Thanks,

What kind of troubles did you have with TCC? I have torn between chosing MCI or TCC. I just don't have the money for MCI. It's really is a nice schedule for the working person with the a day job. What makes it so catching is the evening hours and the length of time for the program. UGGGGG!!!!

I visited MCI and decided not to go there after doing so; it's not my thing and the price is outrageous. Plus, I want to get my BSN and possibly Master's eventually, and their credits will not transfer to another local university (though they offer their own BSN program, I think).

What math are you taking this summer? You know that you could possibly add a course this semester during the second 8 weeks (English 111 - online available, Intro Soc, maybe Math)... Here's how I would go:

Spring '10

1 developmental course (say Sociology)

Summer '10

Math

English 111

Fall '10

Chem

Psych

Spring '10

AP 2

Psych

Summer '10

Micro

It's attainable and do-able... Just make a plan and you'll get there. Do you work?

It would be things like, "oh you start this date." Months later "classes are full, so this is your new start date" I was like wtf serious? Ugh! So I went over to MCI. The good thing is, I got FA, Pell Grant, went to OppInc, and some how managed to take a $35k program down to $9k. So that's all I need in student loans. It's awesome. Oh another thing I wanted to add about TCC, the fact they said "are you sure you just don't want to do something else with your life?" HUH!

MCI is a thought for me. But the $40,000 ---I"m just not sure of what money I would get to go to school. OppInc. would not give me the time of day because my income to high. I'm just confused.....:crying2:

Really?! They didn't give me any problems at all. Just a big run around on stupid paperwork! lol. Maybe I have one up on being a single Mom and that's why they haven't given me too many problems.

For those going to TCC, just to let you know you don't need Chem to take Micro. I haven't been in school in 10 years and took Micro and got an A. Step Six of their admissions process expains it. Just thought that info might help.

For those who have taken Math 1, what should I expect? I registered for the class beginning this month and I would appreciate any advice or heads up.

Thank you all in advance...

Not sure if anyone is still monitoring this thread, but hoping so

The Summer 2010 session is now posted on TCC website and our SICS thing. I'm looking at taking BIO 141 (A&P 1) and BIO 150 (Microbio) both over the summer semester. I am not working anywhere, and have no small children living at home (unless you count hubby lol).

I guess I'm hoping someone monitoring this thread can give me some insight after taking these 2 classes, if they are 'do-able' (A's/B's) at the same time, and over a shortened summer semester. I just dont want to set myself up to fail (C or worse) and have to re-take them. I know they are intense as far as memorization, but thats about all I've heard.

Any opinions by others who have already taken these 2 classes - or have taken them at same time would be greatly appreciated. Or if someone would be willing to send me a syllabus from one or the other classes, just so I can see exactly how involved they are. Im confident I can do them - but at the same time 2nd guessing myself that I might be biting off more then I can chew :uhoh3:
