I could not find a board started for the Spring 2021 school year at Tidewater Community College. Just thought I'd open one up for any applicants on here.
That's what I was asking earlier about the math score . The sheet doesn't have the math grade only science and English . Drops me little over a point without math. I'm not thinking I'll get in . I did really well in English and math but my science was horrible. I took A&P 1 two years ago but I haven't had Chemistry since high school in 2001 ? biology was 2000 . I have a previous bachelors degree but it's totally unrelated to nursing . So for that science and I haven't taken Bio 150, a&p2 or ethics I'm probably out. I didn't realize so many would have taken all of those already . I was enrolled in a&p2 but they switched it to virtual which I wanted in person .
That test was no joke! I felt nervous every time a score was about to pop up! I don’t think I’ll be getting in either, but I still applied! And I’m hoping I will. My scores weren’t in the 90s except for anatomy. Bio was my worst, I haven’t taken bio since 2012. All I can do is wait and see!
The biology I thought was the worst that being said I did think it was easier than I expected . That doesn't mean I did great. I really wish that it had been in the school. My set up at home I felt rushed . I have four kids and my husband I think expected that I was finish sooner than I did because before we moved I was goi f to apply for another school that required TEAS and I did that test in a little over an hour . This test is twice as long . I just wish we didn't have to wait a whole year to retake
@Obxpirate I have 4 kids also! I threatened them all and told my husband if he interrupted me and no one was dying he’d regret it LOL. It took me 169 minutes to complete and I got a 79. My highest scores were in English I got a 100 and 94 in Anatomy. I completely bombed BIO and Chem with a 64 and 68 but with the 70 math score being taken out It bumped my score to an 80 cumulative. I still applied because the worst they can say is no but I’m hoping my application stands out somehow some way and I’m accepted this cohort.
I’m also really upset that we have to wait a year bc the study book I bought straight from the elsevier website had very little information that was on the actual test. It might be bc it was just published and the test hasn’t been updated? Anyway I studied it to the core and performed poorly in bio and anatomy. Can I have your opinions about my chances of getting in? I know it’s a stretch
math: 98
reading comp 96
grammar 98
vocabulary 84
biology 60
anatomy 68
Chemistry 84
critical thinking 900
I have all As in my pre-reqs, a 3.56 GPA and I have completed all corequisites except for Microbiology (taking AP2 and PHI226 now)
Choosing the wrong study method and studying all day before and the day of the test really screwed me.
I got an 80 cumulative as well. Bio brought my score down, I only got a 68. I bought the book from elsevier, but I didn’t feel like it helped much. I felt it had mainly definitions in the science portions. So then I got the app for the test and paid for a month and did that over and over. I felt like that helped me more than the book.
Sounds like our cumulative scores are all pretty close . Mine 79.14 my biology was what killed me . First four sections was game on then my one year old woke up from nap ??♀️ I thought the TEAS was fine maybe slightly harder I know that the other school they said my scores were good but I never applied . HESI was just so long I was burned out by the time I hit biology
