i just wanted to start a thread so that we can let each other know when we start getting acceptance letters. this is a very s...l...o...w...time waiting through june, possibly july to find out how to schedule the rest of the year!

I was just estimating, i don't have the sheet in front of me so it could be a little more or less

They must have changed the uniforms because we have all white. I only paid $100 for two shirts and I didn't buy my pants I got those from the uniform shop. Hmmm I didn't know they were changing the uniforms.

where do we order these from? polo shirts and a vest...that sounds just plain...interesting.

They did change them for this upcoming year, you get them from the bookstore (that's where you order them). I did the math and it's $432 for both uniforms!

Congrats to both of you that got in. I went to the orientation today. I got to sign up for my first nursing class, yay. Just a bit of info: You are required to have health insurance while in the program. Also the uniforms are really, really pricey, ugh!

What type of health insurance? Like is just catastrophic acceptable?

If something was to happen to you while working, you have to have health insurance to be able to go to the doctor or ER within 2 hours.

The school gives you a form you have to fill out to have as a nursing student. Its like $25 a year or two years I think.

The is for if you get sued though, they do require you to have health insurance on yourself as well.

i am just glad i don't start until march so i have time to save up and purchase all these necessities like insurance, blood titers, and more books...

Congratulations to all that have been accepted!! I am currently taking classes at TCC and have decided to go into nursing. I need AP 1 & 2 and micro. along with the sdv 101 then I can apply. I have a question for you that have taken these classes. Did any of you try to take the AP 1 online and lab at campus? And /or did you find that one campus was better than another with these classes?

i never attempted to do it online...i don't know anyone who did. i did meet some of my best friends in these classes, but in the lab portion, really. A&P 1, i had at va beach campus with dr. z and he read the powerpoints that he also posted online, so i felt like i could have just taken it online and done fine for lecture...A&P 2 i'm fixin' to take in the fall, and i have no burning desire to take it online. i took them all/taking them all at va beach because it's more convenient for me than the others, and now i know the professors and students there.
