Tidewater Community College-hopefuls application July 2014

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

This is a new tread for anyone applying July 15, 2014 for TCC Nursing program.

hey everyone! I am getting ready to start my pre-reqs for the nursing program. I was going to take microbiology before A/P but got intiminated by other threads and decided to change it, so now I am taking NAS 2(pre-req for A/P), its an 8 wk course. @laperla--you said that you are graduating this fall--is it for associates in science?

Hello mbstab! First of all Welcome. Yes, I am graduating hopefully this coming semester. I do recommend you to take first Anatomy and physiology. I really though Micro was harder, but really interesting. Check which professor you want to take the class before, remember that you want a teacher that is relatively easy. Any questions you have that I can answer, please do not hesitate.

Thank you -yes I have been on rate my professor--I know some people don't think the instructor matters, but I think it does. I can't wait to be done with the pre reqs, then the hard part is to sell yourself lol for nursing

I also believe it matters, I took many teachers that I read were horrible. I took their class, and I learned the hard way. Today I go to ratemyprofessor to select my teacher. Nursing is a hard road to follow, but don't give up. I have been in school forever, at least it feels like it.

12 more days!! ? and I'm still deciding if I should take this extra chem and literature class for odu concurrent enrollment just in case I get into the program! Ugh. Decisions, decisions!

4 days left for the deadline. I am happy, and exited. We are almost there!!

So what did you decided?, are you taking chemistry and the literature class? I am going to set up an appointment at ODU just in case I do not get selected for TCC, my gpa is almost there is 3.62, the advisor at ODU said to be competitive I need a 3.7 so i am alms there.

Well for now I'm taking the lit class that starts in mid October. That'll give me enough time to find out if I'm in for tcc or not. if I get accepted into the January cohort I'll take chem during the summer. if I get into the March cohort, I'll take the chem in the spring. If I don't get accepted at all, I'll just drop the lit class and still get a refund from it so it won't be a waste.

I just turned in my application today, I prayed on it really hard. I love nursing so much as an LPN, I really hope I get selected and I hope all of you do too. I don't know how competitive I am, but I know of I get selected, I will be so grateful. Of I don't, I suppose it wasn't for me right now.

Same here girl! Just keep praying about it and have faith! :)

When should you know if you got in?
