Tidewater Community College Fall 2021

Published

Hi everybody. This forum is for friendly discussion for those who are applying to Tidewater community college's nursing program for fall 2021. Good luck!

Looks like we all are in good shape!! Learned from my experience, I finally found peace with this waiting period LOL

Good luck all. Yes agreed. I've learned to be patient. I've gotten my hopes up before ?

Although I've done all I can do to get in this time so I'm still hopeful!

I’m so there too ? I remember how anxious we were last cycle. But this time I’m not sure I’ll  even notice until I check the mail ?

Greetings all!

I am applying for the fall 2021 class! I am stoked! I am changing careers. I have a masters in community counseling and current work at a local agency providing mental health evaluations for voluntary and involuntary inpatient hospitalization. I have been looking into nursing schools since 2016, mere months after finishing my graduate program. Since then, I have been to three different states and two different coasts. Because I have a bachelors degree, most of the core classes transferred over from my undergrad program. I took API AND Micro (WOW! did I do that?!?!?!?) in the fall and I currently taking APII. I took the HESI on Saturday and got a cumulative score of 86 (damn Chemistry!). I have completed the app and am now just waiting for my HS transcript to arrive before mailing it off (or hand delivering it... haven't decided yet LOL). I'm wishing everyone the best of luck and hopefully I will be seeing you all in the fall ?

I won't be done with A&P by the time applications are due so I'm out for fall 2021. Good luck all!

That's awesome! It's great that you have so much done already! I loved bio142 way more than bio141. Chemistry was my lowest score too!  ?

Luckily I scored pretty decent on everything else so that helped my overall.

Good luck! Seems like your in good shape!

Good luck to you too!! @elle_marie Were you able to find out the class average for HESI? Because I took my HESI last year September, I’m not able to look it up on my elsvier account for this cycle (I think) ?

@rachelpk How do I find out the class average? I thought I had read about that in previous threads but I don't know how to do that. I even when in last night and clicked on everything looking for it LOL

Okay... so I found out the class averages. I don't know if there is a cumulative average but I found the average for each section:

Math 82

Reading comp 85

Grammar 83

Vocab 84

Chem 77

Bio 80

Anatomy 77

You found it! Thank you! So, I got 81.14 if we get the class average on the 16th, we should be able to find out exact class average because there may be more people to take HESI until the deadline. From the information session on 1/20/21, the 45th percentile is likely to stay similar in each cycle LOL ????

Awesome. I'm not disappointed if the average can stay around 80-81 then. ?

Anyone else signing up for the math 154 for the next semester or did you all already take it? I did the placement testing and did all the mte 1-5 a few semesters ago but it guess they are not accepting that starting next semester.

I know I'm going to need to take more math for my bachelor's anyway. I've done just about everything else.

Me too. I wish the 45th percentile stays in the range !! I thought MTH154 was pre-req? If we get in this time, we don’t have to take it.

I guess I'm planning on if I don't get in this time either. ?

But I think it's still something you'll need if you plan on pursuing your bachelor's.
