Tidewater Community College Fall 2018

Published

Hello all fellow applicants for TCC's Fall Semester 2018!

I have been scouring the most recent TCC post, and the latest applicants have been offered their seats in the program, woohoo!!! As a result, I have decided to post a new thread for the next round of applications.

Just curious, will anyone be a resident of Virginia for only a short time before applying? I will be moving in December and I was wondering if my measly two month-long residency will hold up as well against someone who has been a resident of Virginia for over a year.

Happy application cycle! :) Hope to see some of you someday soon.

Hello, I am Emily. I heard six also, with three returning from last year. I look forward to meeting you at the orientation.

See you then!

I got accepted as an alternate :/ I had a 91 HESI and 3.6 gpa but was missing micro

Sorry, I hope you will get accepted by the end. you had a pretty high hesi score already. But they don't include a micro in prerequisites. I haven't have my micro , and Psy done by next week, so I don't think I will get according to your case. I haven't had my mail yet, so I called them, they said if I don't receive the mail by next Monday, let me call them again.

Because the change in the curriculum was late, they are allowing you to finish psy this term. I did that and I received provisional acceptance. I believe the mail just may be lagging. For the people that I know that applied to the ESCC cohort, only three of us have received letters so far. Don't lose hope yet! Good luck!

Thank you for letting me know, I am worried to dead and discourage already. You are very supportive. I kinda turned in my application late, my hesi was low, a 84. plus, my Psy230, micro and Ethic haven't finished until next week. GPA is 3.95. Anyway, if I don't get accepted this time, I will apply on July for Jan. semester.

I really hope your letter comes soon

I hope so, I will wait 2 more days.... Thank you very much !!!

I believe the minimum hesi was an 81.87??? I had an 88, but I saw others were getting rejected with higher scores. Hopefully your mail will be there soon.

I just received my mail today, I am an alternate. I still need to go to the orientation.

Congrats to everyone who made it. I was apart of the 2017 night and weekend. I transferred over to riverside because the program at TCC was very unorganized, please beware of this. Good luck to everyone who got in

Do you have any tips on what to do to be successful? Anything to study before nursing school? Any books or resources you found helpful? Any teachers we should stay away from? Thanks for the heads up.

You don't get to pick your teachers; I would stay on top of all the reading, tests are structured like nclex questions; memorizing will not help. Stay on top of your skills lab and do every procedure exactly how they want you to do it.
