Good evening.
Joe, wishing your father a speedy recovery.
Looks great Ado.
Came home to G saying the air conditioner he turned on 3 hours ago wasn't working. I rebooted the thermostat because when in doubt, reboot right? I hope it works. It's 83 inside and too hot to sleep. I have enough stress in my life. I have an established appointment for routine maintenance on Tuesday.
Worked the floor and had 6:1 ratio but got it all done. I think I'm in charge tomorrow.
Cute dragon, J22!
Yes, a speedy recovery wished for Joe's dad and no vegetation on the valves.
Hope rebooting the thermostat worked.
Hubs and I sat outside and handed out candy. Had quite a few trick-or-treaters which was great. I guess if you live on the path to the elementary school and fly a Jolly Roger for a week before Halloween...
What a day! The CG came at noon, so she could get off at 5 PM, to take her grand-dgt trick-or-treating. For the first 1/2 hour she was here I listened to her talk about the last time her husband wanted to break up with her; it involved another woman whose husband didn't know his wife as cheating on him with CG's husband. Lots of verbal fights, punching, police calls, oh my gracious! Hairier than a soap opera! CG came out of it smelling like a rose; she's so frank about the strange incidents, and by telling the complete (and I mean complete!) truth to the police, she didn't get in trouble at all. She did have to go to court for the restraining order business that everybody took out against everybody else. Even the judge told CG's husband that it was all crazy. This little paragraph doesn't even BEGIN to cover all the stuff that went on. But, all's well that ends well, and they are back together and he now treats her very well.
So, then I went to the dealership to have my tires balanced and aligned. I told the guy that the last time I was there it took something ridiculous like 3-4 hours, so he needed to tell the guys doing the work that I HAD TO get home by 5PM. So an hour and a half later they let me have my car back. I had an old coupon from July for the work, and the service guy said, when I said, "Will the old coupon work?" he said, "Yes, because I will make it work!" then he added "Because YOU are one of my favorites." so, it 'only' cost me $129. I don't know what it would have cost otherwise, and I don't know about being his "favorite", but I AM always pleasant, understanding, and patient. The first thing I do when I get into the garage space is greet him and then tell him the mileage on my car. "You're right on top of things!I " he says to me. But I am sure he gets plenty of folks who aren't happy being at the dealership, forking over a lot of $$$$$, and they GRIPE and complain to the service manager!. I wouldn't want his job, mainly cause he has to deal with complicated many-screened forms to fill out for every bit of the work to be done, and again once it is completed. My eyes would be crossed if I had to deal with all that!
I got back home at 4:45 and sent CG along to trick or treat with the kid. I found the note I had left for myself "TAKE OUT TRASH!", so I did that, and then I remembered Nannie's bed, which I had not checked earlier.....annnnd, yes, it was wet, so I had to strip it and start a wash. Then when I was going to put it in the dryer, I discovered I hadn't dried what I had thrown in the dryer earlier in the AM. *sigh*. I made up the bed with her 'alternate' set of sheets. I hate those new VERY THICK mattresses; their thickness makes it difficult to lift the mattress with one hand and push/pull and tuck the sheets and blankets in place.
I put a frozen pizza in the oven; it was roasted mushrooms and spinach, to which I added sliced black olives and a bunch of chopped up ham. Nannie ate 3 pieces, (she usually only eats 2 pieces), and she kept exclaiming how good it was.. Then in addition she ate her usual pudding and a Little Debbie's Fudge Round and cran-apple juice. I just had the pizza and some iced tea.
We have been watching Mountain Men where they were living in the mountains (duh!) in the Winter and ran their dogs after a cougar (to scare it away from the ranch) and had to walk all the way back, of course, with the dogs, through the snows. It wore me out thinking about living such a hard life voluntarily. There was also a couple who had trap lines they collected frozen martens from. The guy shot a deer and gutted it, tossing the entrails to the dogs. Nannie was fascinated.
Now we are watching Jeff Dunham's Halloween special.......Walter is a Frankenstein monster, Bubba J. is a one-toothed vampire. Peanut is BatMan. Nannie really likes Jeff Dunham even though she doesn't remember seeing him before: "He is REALLY GOOD!" Tonight's TV beats Home Hunters International which we would be watching otherwise and because of people's accents, Nannie is always saying "What did she/he say?" And while I am explaining, I can't hear anything else said while I was answering her... at a great volume.
No Trick-or-Treaters in this neighborhood, thank goodness.
And so goes ...or went ....another day and evening.
Thirty minutes until Nannie's bedtime!!😃YAY!

Tweety hope the productivity is a good sign rather than anxiety
Stars glad the pain has eased off and you'll have a few hours free
Happy Halloween
Work was relatively slow in the morning, then I got a new case, which I finished in the early afternoon. Then I got another one towards the end of the day. Stayed calm and worked on it, got majority of the work done and will finish the remainder today. Didn't have to stay late but did work right up until the end of of the day
After work drove to the restaurant for the over 50 group. Had some new people this time and a nice discussion. Stopped at the pet store for supplies on the way home
Talked to dad, they're going to do a transesophageal ultrasound today to make sure there's no bacterial growth on the heart valves. Hopefully he'll be sent home once that's completed. Wondering if he'll be on oral medication or if he'll need a home health nurse to provide IV antibiotics, guess we'll see
Nothing unusual going on today, which is good after yesterday. Only plans are to watch It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown
Cooler today, think it will only be in the low 60s. Rain should end this morning, will make it easier on the trick or treaters
