Tweety gardening can be an interesting hobby

Ado glad the move has gone well so far

Stars here's hoping he sticks with the Librium and that his symptoms abate soon

Hi NJ22

Another fairly slow day at work.  Generally has been a slow week so far. Not going to complain as I'm sure it'll get busy again soon

Did the grocery shopping yesterday.  Bit more than I usually do, as I'm not only doing the usual meal prep but preparing my mom's Ranch Beans recipe for the church potluck this Sunday.  Will have to find time for all the cooking, thankfully no baking this weekend

Did a little knitting last night and watched Star Trek

Tonight will exercise and do some research for one of the groups I volunteer with.  We're doing a presentation and I'm helping with some of the research

Another warm day in the low 70s  here

Hi Joe. Good to see your workload is not overwhelming. Ranch beans sound good, and it's got to be good if its Mom's recipe.

Yes, I enjoy gardening, and I love having fresh herbs on hand for cooking. I just grow them in a big planter on the deck outside of the kitchen. One doesn't have to go all out with fancy landscaping and high maintenance stuff.

I had a tele med visit with the electrophysiologist, and I am going ahead with a atrial fib ablation, hopefully before the end of the year. I just feel like I've lost some oomph and endurance, and would like to do what's possible to get it back. I went for a bike ride before the visit, and cut it short because my hands got really cold. There was frost on the grass and rooftops. It is only about 40 degrees and I didn't take my super-warm mittens, so I only went about 6 miles. dh is adjusting to retirement. He has lots of to do lists and has been taking care of dinner all week. He is making tacos tonight. I cleaned the bathrooms and updated account information on some bills.

NoStars, I wonder if your hubby is shaky from his liver disease, although I think that generally affects the hands. It's called asterixis or "liver flap." I would bring it up with doc. And not as a tattle tale sort of thing, but as a "I'm concerned..." or "help me understand..."

Another big rain system is coming in and the street sweepers are trying to clean up the leaves so the drains aren't too clogged. And there is a wind advisory. Whoosh !

Good Afternoon~

Got up at 1 PM this "morning" ?. Nannie was already up in her recliner and was wearing a wet pull-up with 3 pads in it, and 2 pairs of pj bottoms. I took her to the bathroom and stripped her down, washed, redressed with all dry clothes and accouterments. Gave her her AM meds and yogurt. Put some of her blankets and sheets in the wash and then the dryer.

Sat with both checkbooks and called the bank's auto-teller to check off what's what, balance-wise. Wrote a bunch of checks to pay bills. By then it was too late to go out to the post-office and bank, so ALL of that is put off until tomorrow.

Hubby's appt is at 11:20 AM tomorrow. I do plan to ask, "What's all that gut-quivering about?" May well be his liver doing the shimmy-shake. Hubby said the little bottles I saw in the trash came from under the car seat, and when he found them he tossed them in the trash. He vowed he has not been taking the Librium and drinking any liquor "because they told me I shouldn't because it was bad for me to do that." (Let us pray)

He has gone out to get us some supper at Wendy's. Nannie's already got a subway steak and cheese he got earlier, when he didn't know I had given her the breakfast yogurt. So, we set it aside and will reheat that for her supper. Right now she is talking in her sleep a good bit. Volume on her voice is better than when she talks to us, but the actual words are inaudible.

So, youse guyz ain't gettin' rich, because my BIG WIN was $8.00 for having just the power-ball number match. No other #'s matched. Oh well, I have already come to the conclusion that I am not the luckiest person, sweepstakes-wise.  But if I'd won that billion bucks I would've given everybody a cool million. Sorry I couldn't come through with that; it would've been SOOOOO fun to gift everyone!

That's all for now, I guess. I'll pop back later to check on you bunch~

My post disappeared!

Trying to get over my disappointment that Stars didn't win the big lotto. Gardening is a good thing and I do love home grown tomatoes but I haven't made the effort lately.

The boys left about 5:30 this morning to drive to Indiana. They arrived at their friend's house a few minutes ago. A friend (that I haven't met) went with them.

Things are still reasonably good at the new hospital. I'm tired. Tomorrow I'm going to an infection prevention conference about 1/2 hour away.

G'day

Was a busy day due to some call offs.  I started with five, discharged two and got three in.  Bleh.....

Late post, here.

Didn't do much today.  Made some one-pot pasta yesterday, we will enjoy that for a couple of days.  We got a small dusting of snow in the local mountains.  I was reading that the Sierras, from Lake Tahoe down to Mammoth Mountain, have received their first snow of the season.  It was nice to be a little chilly when I went out today.  Got the car washed, and did a little detailing after it was clean.

Tomorrow we get to see the ds's and dil!  Will meet for Thai food at lunch.  Then, later, we will get a few things packed and ready for tomorrow's trip to Carlsbad for the bluegrass get-together.  Weather should be good: clear and in the high 60's.

Our oldest cat, Cloud, had a seizure yesterday.  It lasted less than a minute.  She had one a couple months ago, too, lasting just about as long (less than a minute).  She is 18 years old, so there is no fast track to "get something done."  But we don't want her uncomfortable.  We are in Observation Mode right now.  She ate within an hour of the seizure, and is getting herself around well, same as pre-seizure.  Just a little something to worry about.

No Stars, thank you for thinking of us, and of sending us part of your winnings (if you had won, that is).  I do hope you win more than $8 sometime!! // One day at a time, with your dh and with Nannie.

nursej22, I hope the ablation turns out to be a good thing for you!  It is an amazing procedure.

Ado, enjoy tomorrow's conference (good it is only 30 min away, rather than a long trip)!  I'm sure you were relieved your sons made it safely to Indiana.  How long will they be there?

Hello to Joe and Tweety!

Have a good evening!

Goodnight, everyone!

Hubby is morose about going to doc's appt tomorrow; "I wonder if he's going to make me come back in another three days to see him again?" We'll see. I haven't felt his guts quivering today. Who knows. I believe he's still on the fence over all of this. Oh well, time will tell. I wish they'd just admit him to the hospital for a few weeks. Of course, he would hate that.!
