Good morning!
Joe, hope you have a good day.
I had Mexican food when in North Carolina and it was extremely salty to me, but liked their homemade salsa.
Nothing much going on today. Hopefully the fridge gets fixed today. I'm only about 50% hopeful because I've been disappointed. When this is all said and done I'm dropping this company. I pay good money for warranty and this is ridiculous.
Meeting a dog/house sitter that may sit for me in November which is a long way off but want to explore options.
The horror-scopes are unsettling for today: *I* am supposed to tamp down the flash of rage that threatens to take me over today. Great! And step-dgt is supposed to "reach the peak of her intelligence capacity" (oh dear!), and Nannie's sez she will "get inspiration about what she should be doing during the rest of her time here on Earth."
Unfortunately Nannie's 'inspiration' seems to be stuck somewhere in long episodes of staring blankly at the floor. Step-dgt always believes she is and has been 'at the peak of her intelligence' all along, but I imagine it is not necessarily yielding the benefits she imagines it carries. Me, I am feeling better and more hopeful, and because the Prednisone has kicked in this morning, my knee and lower back pains are shadows of their former selves. w00t! 🤩 (are those stars in my eyes? no, just rose-colored glasses) Have not looked at Chatty CG's horror-scope yet, although she is OFF today for her birthday, so looking hers up wouldn't be a difficult task, if I wanted to.... It's not really that I follow the horror-scopes, it's merely that I often find them quite amusing, and a funny way to start a day. Like the funny-pages in the newspaper!
It's only 11:30 AM, but I am going to get up and get dressed. I will be spending my afternoon sitting on the sofa in the den, while hoping Nannie falls asleep from sheer boredom, and I will finally doing some of my laundry that I already have put off for two days. And, yessss, I will be [playing the Thursday Game of Gathering All The Trash to put in the bins and set them out at the end of the driveway this evening, And OF COURSE there are dishes in the sink, though I really DID wash dishes TWICE yesterday, so what there is there is of little consequence.
If I wasn't revved up with the ZIZZ of Prednisone, I'd try to take a nap. But I'm going to 'Carpe Diem' if I can.
Hope everyone's Holiday weekend and Monday turns out well, with repaired refrigerators for Tweety, and all good things for the rest of y'all. I'll be waving out at all of youse from my ivory tower of servitude. (Am I not PITIFUL?! Naw, just sawing off branches of my predicted 'rage', in an effort to 'tamp it down.')
CHEERS and all that.............
My breakfast? Why thank you for asking! It was tough to make myself eat as early as I did (due to food required when taking Prednisone). I usually eat breakfast and lunch at 3 PM! I had an avocado sandwich on seeded rye ..... minus the toasting part; I couldn't wait for the toaster to do its thing....what, all of a minute and a half?!
Laundry is in progress. Nannie is fighting the urge (and it's a strong one) to doze off, so perhaps she will succumb to sleep in a bit. I am fighting MY urge to SCRATCH (gouge) all the itchy spots. When I put the Benadryl cream on, the itches say "MEH!" Oh, well, I am a grown-up so I can, for the most part, resist vigorous scratching. I close my eyes and say the word "ZEN!" and sometimes the itch retreats for a while, or just goes to another spot to plague me. Soon, soon, it will all be histamine history! *fingers crossed*
Ciao, y'all!
Here's the scoop: I got confirmation of my appointment today, even got a time of 10:43 and that passed and got 12:17. That passed and I got "we have no appointment for scheduled for you". Spoke to a live person that said they had no confirmation that I had received my parts and I didn't have an appointment. I confirmed yesterday that I had received the parts. Suffice it to say that in my usual nice state, I told them of their incompetence and to forget the whole thing. I called the warranty company to cancel my policy because and gave the reason. They wanted to make it right and I told them they had ample opportunity over the last month to make it right and over and over again incompetence prevailed.
It only looks I was the one canceling and causing problems, so I'm choosing battles and tired of talking to a broken record. I'm biting the bullet and scraping this one and buying a new one. They have some good Memorial Day sales. Nothing fancy but just starting over. Unless further incompetence happens it should be delivered on Tuesday. I could have gotten it Saturday but I'm working and roommate is out of town.
Sorry for the dump.
Hi Ado, see you down there.
On a brighter note, I met the dog sitter and like him and his dog well enough and agreed to book him to housesit and dog sit for Waffles when I go on vacation in November. It's not cheap but without Slowbro with her, I don't want to put her in a stranger's house and because she's blind she's better off here.
Today is pretty much shot so I'm going to order Chinese and eat my stress and read.
I have avocado on toast nearly every morning. I sprinkle flax seed meal and pumpkins on top, and add alfalfa sprouts if I have any.
I had another PT session this morning. The PTA believes that my calf muscles are tight and getting them to relax will help. So she used a thing that looks sort of like a paint scraper (I think it's called a Graston tool) and scraped it over my calf several times. It didn't feel great, but if it helps it will be worth it. Since I left a few bruises have shown up. In the afternoon I saw a sport medicine doc and he injected my knees with the gel stuff like I had last year. It's fascinating, to me anyway, to watch the ultrasound while he's doing it. I ran by the optical shop to order new lenses for my sun glasses, then the farm store for some rose fertilizer. I will go out shortly to help dh in the vegetable garden.
Youngest ds is feeling down. One of his good friends from childhood has been found to have a brain tumor and needs urgent surgery. And coincidentally, an acquaintance on facebook is dealing with her husband going through the same thing. Gah. Hug your friends and family when you can, folks.
Tweety, I think you did the right thing. I have always been suspicious of buying a warranty. What brand did you get?

Thanks!
@nursej22 I went with Samsung because it was the design I wanted at the best price even though South Korea is a target of tariffs. There is a plant that makes Samsung refrigerators in South Carolina, so I'm hoping it comes from there since it's so close. Anyway, Samsung is good quality and has a 4.6 star review out of 5 at Best Buy which was having a Memorial Day sale. I thought about getting GE which are mostly assembled here, but even so have parts made from abroad but they weren't the best price for what I wanted. TMI about a refrigerator but I'll be glad to put this saga behind me.

I've had my Samsung refrigerator for 4 years , got at Lowe's--no problem, easy pull out shelves and indoor icemaker. Hope yours is a good one.

Stars here's hoping the medication gets rid of that rash
Tweety glad you were able to get through to someone and get the repair moved up
Hi Dianah
NJ22 it's planned for the beginning of October
Ado glad the meeting went well
Work was pretty good, finally. No new cases or any unexpected difficulties. Had to help a coworker whose computer crashed but was one of several people helping and only had a few things to do
Day was pretty quiet too, stopped at Trader Joes and exercised. Tried the Trader Joes macaroons for the first time, found they're pretty good
Today have a Zoom meeting after work and then will drive to a Mexican restaurant where they gay group is meeting. Think it's a place I've been to before
Going to be a little warmer, in the upper 50s, rain should hold off
