Tweety sounds like a productive day

Ado I hope that the car works when you get there

Stars that is a lot for you to deal with, having two people to take care of, and one that is not taking care of his own health when he could.  Unfortunately you may be right, even if he went to rehab there is a risk of  relapse

NJ22 that's good that you offer rides like that

Yesterday was pretty good at work, so I'm hoping today will be the same

Traffic was a bit heavy driving to nephew's graduation but got there on time.  Looked like it might rain but it didn't.  Took about an hour and a half, which wasn't too bad.  Drive home was easier although I was tired by the time I got home

Have counseling during lunch then an event with the social club tonight, hoping I won't be too tired for that

Will be about the same as yesterday, will get up to almost 90

Good morning. Today looks to be a little warmer, it may even get to 60 degrees. Yesterday was lots of gardening: at the demo garden, home and then dd's house. We stopped at Wendy's for dinner. I had a baked potato and a strawberry frosty. Nom, nom. Today, no plans. I may go see sis and help her with Epley maneuvers.

Ado, good luck with the car. It great that you know something about cars. Sometimes the older ones are easier to get going, because you don't have to deal with all the computer stuff.

I think we are do for a furnace check. Perhaps it will actually get done before the cold weather returns, LOL.

Joe, that sounds like a lot of sitting: driving plus commencement, but I'm sure your nephew appreciated it. How are your legs doing?

I hope NoStars has the hot water fixed, and the gypsies are at bay.

No gypsies so far, today. ?

Nannie is up, dressed, and in her recliner. Hubby was out in the car earlier and he came in when I came downstairs, He had a small bowl of cheerios, and then said he was going up to rest on his bed. The water-tank guy will come sometime after 12 noon, and will call first.

Well, last night's excitement was at 12 midnight. Hubby was exiting the bathroom, and lurched to his left side and promptly fell down the 6 steps to the front hallway. I saw him where he landed, curled up on his right side. Had hit the back of his head (as opposed to the previous fall when he fell on his face.). Blood on the stairs carpet, from the back of his head, but I couldn't find exactly where it was coming from. I was stepping over him to get on his other side while he was attempting to turn over, and *I* fell over him, backwards, and hit the back of my head on the woodwork! No cuts or bruises. I said "Well, aren't we a pair!" I got up and then he managed to struggle to raise himself up and then into the bed. Now he is c/o being 'sore all over.' I am not surprised. (My head isn't sore. ?)

No ballgame tonight. I think we won 2-1, but I'm not sure right now.

Stepping off here for now. Hubby just came down to the den....I just saw the long crease across the back of his head where it landed on the edge of the wall. Not bleeding currently.

Here are some pics I took yesterday at the demo garden. The sky was overcast, so the colors look a little dull. There are peonies, iris, a red rose behind it, and a clematis. IMG_0339.thumb.jpeg.1d8d258d4fe018dc79572d972ac27392.jpegIMG_0340.thumb.jpeg.63732fa4c6e83b9657ba2bb21ff65d45.jpegIMG_0341.thumb.jpeg.4938e805368e0d2befc761562d3e403e.jpegIMG_0342.thumb.jpeg.1da621c2fbf73d9d6aa7ce018251cd0a.jpegIMG_0343.thumb.jpeg.1957c8010b0d8d8db931109638eee618.jpeg

Beautiful garden!

I don't know *that* much about cars and my anxiety level over this trip and vehicle-recovery is fairly high -- I'm just ignoring that right now. I did watch a YouTube video about replacing the battery (it is under the back seat).

Hubs called me yesterday afternoon saying he felt like he had a fever and he ached all over. Today, he reports the fever broke and he was drenched with sweat and feeling weak, but starting to  feel better. Needless to say, he did not go to dinner with the choir. I did, though. Nice outing. Sat out on the patio. I was assuming he would still be sick today and I wouldn't be able to meet with the book club. I might not go -- there is plenty to do to prepare for being gone for a few days. And if census is high-ish Friday night there is a chance I could be needed at the hospital. Gma absolutely refused to cooperate with me about getting ready for bed and going to bed. Hubs had to do it, sick as he was. She doesn't like women in general, and me in particular, when she is in those moods. How long, O Lord? ?

She sat at the table with an untouched plate of food. Me: "Aren't you going to eat your dinner?"

Gma: "Do you want it?"

Me, taking the plate to the kitchen: "No, I had a big meal."

Gma: "Why did you take it away from me?"

Me: "Well, it's time to get ready for bed."

Gma: "I'm not working. Give it back."

Me: "Do you need to go to the bathroom?"

Gma, empatically: "No"

Me: "Let's go get ready for bed"

Gma, again emphatic: "No"

mutters, under her breath "I'm  never coming back here."

and so on...

We are newly tanked! They had to move the washer and dryer over a few inches to the left because the new tank is fatter than the old one. They told me that the one we were replacing is 22 years old, and a hole in the bottom rusted out, hence the leak.

After they left, since Nannie was conked out, I took some of her old clothes that were blocking part of the washer top, clothes that she will never fit into, ever again ... and stuffed two 30 gal. trash bags full, and will bring them over to the women's shelter's 2nd-hand store. Somebody will be happy to get them, as Nannie bought good brand outfits that didn't come from WalMart or the defunct Sears or KMart. But no way can she squeeze into a size medium or even a 14. I kept the 16's, even though she will never likely wear them. The colors are bright and she will like seeing them hanging there. She was a 'snappy' dresser, whatever that means. Think 1970's older-lady clothes with matchy/matchy jackets, scarves, blouses, and skirts. Pretty, but definitely not my style! Glad I got to sneak out the bags of her clothes without her seeing any of them!

How is your head, @No Stars In My Eyes

And your hubby's?

Hey, tmb!

My head is fine, no cuts, no bleeding; 1 small tender spot, well, maybe it is about as big as a hummingbird's egg, but you have to feel around to find it. My theory is that my skull was protected by my hair ?.

Hubby still has that horizontal 'crease' (or shallow furrow?) on the back of his head from last night's fall. The right side of his forehead has a vertical medium-size 1/2 egg from the previous fall. And I should change the bandages on his elbow and the back of his hand, from that previous fall, but which got scraped and displaced in last night's fall, and they have black-ish dried blood on them, but he says, "tomorrow".

Good evening!

Glad everyone is okay stars.  22 years is some good use from a hot water heater.

Work was okay.  I was in charge but only had a two-patient assignment.  Was fairly busy.  One nurse thinks the role of charge nurse is flunky "can you pass this med for me?  I'm late."  Me:  Sure.  Her:  I'm going for coffee anyone want some?  Later:  "can you flush an IV for me".  Me:  I'm busy so no.  Witch please.

I'm dog sitting the ex-brother in-laws dog for a few days.  She's sweet but 16 years old.
