NJ22 hope the tsunami didn't cause any issues

Hi Dianah

Stars glad the vet visit went OK

Work was good again yesterday, fairly quiet.  After work drove down to the dinner with the over 50 group.  Service was a bit slow, although we did have a big group. Was OK, although I think that I'm starting to lose interest in the group.  People tend to attend sporadically, which makes getting to know anyone difficult

Today have little scheduled for work, so it should be good.  Have tomorrow off so will have to make sure everything is squared away before I leave

Will thankfully be a cooler day, in the mid 70s, no rain

Joe, you've jumped ahead a day. I was momentarily confused by the time warp.

When I drove home yesterday, the car thermometer said 106. The "real" temp, depending who you want to believe, was 99 or 100 or 101. I bought one of those windshield screens for the car -- the teenage Star Wars nerd in me couldn't resist getting one that looks like Han and Chewy flying the Millennium Falcon while Luke and Obi-Wan look on. Today is cooler with some clouds and the expected high tomorrow is only 81.

I've been amused lately by license plates in the parking lot at work. Two sat side-by-side and their first letters were "DUH" and "OMG." There is another one whose first letters are "DV8" -- I think I would not want that to be mine!

Someone from the hospice agency gave Hubs the name of someone to talk to about occasional Gma-sitting so Tuesday he had the new Gma-sitter come for the afternoon while he went to play music. Apparently all was good.

When I dropped off the sleep study gadget (2 weeks ago yesterday) they told me it usually takes about a week to get them read and I would hear back from them. No word yet.

Good morning  ( I think. Well, so far anyway...) It seems that Tinker's idea of when I should get up is around 10 to 10:30 AM. She waits for me to do my morning ablutions and get dressed. It takes some time, and you'd think that after getting me up, she'd want to hurry to get out the door and pee, first thing, Nope. She did 3/4's of the walk before she stopped to poop, and then never did pee that I could tell. I'm going to search the house and see if she has a secret pee-area I don't know about. It's either that or she has a monstrously large bladder that "holds it" forever!

High of 91 degrees, Real Feel 103 degrees, Humidity 81% and a 66% chance of rain and/or t-storm at 1 PM and 7 PM (? on-the-dot ?)

Don't think today is a Chatty CG day....she told SiL last time they talked, that she would need 'a few weeks of Thursdays' before she comes back to do Nannie-sitting. Don't know of SiL's reply to her about that, but SiL still continues to tell me that she is going-to-be-looking-for a new caregiver.......WHEN, I don't know, because......

......  SiL is going out of town today! I don't know to where, and I THINK she said something about coming back around Wednesday. Any time she says she "REALLY needs those days off", I want to say, "No kidding? Imagine that!" and add on something about ME needing DAYS off, too! She must be tone-deaf and blind to MY needs for Days Off for me! It can't happen for me unless the Nannie-person is in the hospital. But, for some reason though, they seldom keep and admit her, regardless if I take her or send her via ambulance, to the ER., It would be great if SiL could find a nsg home that does RESPITE CARE and they were able to pay for several FULL days AND NIGHTS (!) out of Nannie's funds. Maybe she'll get a tax return that will allow for that. WHO KNOWS? I sure don't!

Last night Nannie asked me if we were at "The Manor"....huh? No, Nannie, we are in YOUR house. She doesn't recognize so many things, and it happens more often now.  Her 'conversation' or explanations about what's happening on TV is garbled and filled with "Uh, um, oh, uh,,," and a  FEW audible words, but it is often a LENGTHY spell of 'talking'.! The info she is trying to explain to me, in spite of the fact that I am right here with her and can tell (better than she can!) what's going on..... it's useless to tell her that. She thinks that the real estate agent who is showing people houses has a nefarious motive going in, like she or he is trying to 'fool them' or trick them somehow. 🙄 OY!

Speaking of 'her'...it is now time to go raise her out of bed, get her dressed, and once she is in the recliner, I will bring her meds and breakfast tray down to the den....And then hope she goes to sleep in the recliner until suppertime! Between suppertime and bedtime is when I start feeling the most irritable with her. And she gets weirder and weirder about fiddling with her clothes, pulling up her socks, taking off and putting back on her shoes, buttoning and unbuttoning the sweater she is wearing....or looking for buttons and button-holes in a top that has none, and trying to make her 3/4's sleeves stretch down to her wrists. She also tries to straighten out the natural folds a shirt makes at the waistline when she sits down. Another useless activity! All this activity is repetitious, accompanied by her  grunts and sighs, followed by a HUGE sigh from me! And it seems that as long as I am up, she also wants to be up. I tell her there's nothing going on that she would miss by going to bed a little earlier, and if she feels uncomfortable she would feel better once she got into bed. A grown-up person  (ostensibly) should be able to tell if they are too tired to stay up, but she is becoming a ....what? ..... a "grown-down?".....kind of like a Benjamin Button character!

It is quiet and she is observing absolutely NOTHING going on in the back yard, so maybe those eyelids will become heavier and she will just HAVE TO close them.

So....on to the usual: dishes, trash and laundry.

Well, it *is* July 31, but it's Thursday. I guess I wasn't completely un-confused.

I changed the day to Thursday.

Hello to all!  I did feel the 4.7 earthquake this morning.  It woke me up (first thought: did a cat just get on the bed?), and once I realized it was an earthquake (and not a large one), I went back to sleep.  🙂

I made an appt with my primary for October, and I have one in September with my Cardiologist.  Just routine appts, as I feel I am doing well, no concerns and no new issues.

Not much going on here.  Slept OK, not great.  At least I slept.

Have a good day/evening!

I miss Hallmark's stores. For years I used their small give-away calendar books to keep track of my shifts many years ago. I decided I now have to get an actual calendar book because writing things down on scraps of paper and then having to relocate the paper in order to change it when, for some reason, my time and time-off, and expectations of what activities I might pursue have to change . It is mostly because of my 'relief'-people that my plans are  frequently thwarted. So, make that a small calendar book with an accompanying white-out pen! Then I can "un-confuse" myself! 😋

I went overboard with calendars this year. I bought a notebook-style calendar year at the bookstore that was part of my Christmas stuff. And forgot about it, I guess, so bought a similar one for my desk at work. I got a photo wall calendar from the wildlife rehab just to support them and get the cute animal pictures. Then ordered the calendar that has stepson's cat for the month of March. 😉

G'day.

Had two of the most aggravating days at work I've had in a while.

Wednesday though I seemed to turn a corner with the e coli infection and while I'm not healed by no means, I am improved.  The last two days were similar but fingers crossed I'll be okay sooner rather than later.

Off tomorrow and working the weekend.

I still use a wall colander and that's it.  I like to see appointments and stuff in one place.

Have a good evening.

I use the calendar on my phone and computer. Years ago, I used to use the little calendar that came with the checks, or maybe the bank mailed it?

In grad school I wrote every class day and assignment in it, plus my work schedule and the kids' sports things. It was the only way I could maintain my sanity. A coworker caught sight of it and was shocked of all the balls I was juggling.
