One word: ANTS! A trip to the grocery store is in the plan, to get more "ant traps," per dh. For now, he has bagged up the cat fud and I have wiped down with vinegar, and he put out what ant traps we had.
Slept well for 3 hr then woke up and was awake for 3 hr. I guess I slept after that for 2 hr. Oh well.
Tomorrow we will get the RV out, to test everything and arrange to get it serviced, before heading out in late Feb to the first of the festivals.
Joe, hope today is quiet as well!
Have a good day!
Another day, another shopping trip....
I had to get chux. I also got hubby some male pads for light incontinence; I'm sure he wouldn't appreciate me telling y'all that, but heck I've revealed worse. I have noticed he has had urine on his underwear, and sometimes a LOT of it. He has taken to sleeping on a chux, but I figure these male-pads would be handy for him when he is at rehab. I also got him 3 t-shirts (have to be WITH pockets) and a black sweatshirt. He still needs undies and a hoodie and a few more t's, and definitely sweat-pants. He said, "You didn't have to get all that." I told him "Oh, but I did; you need all new stuff so when you go to rehab you won't be wearing the ripped and stained stuff you wear here at home.
We both also need to go to get our 'respective hairs' cut at the hairdresser. His beard is growing all over the place, and he says his razors won't get it all off, so the hairdresser can shave him. Oh, last night we had a long discussion about getting Nannie placed BEFORE he does rehab. I said ABSOLUTELY NOT! I said I have no problem with taking care of her while he is in rehab, it will give me time to go through her papers.
Nannie is so confused that she can't stop talking nonsense. I have to go sit outside so I don't strangle her.
Joe, lately I don't remember dreams much at all. Hubs usually does and insists on telling me about them. But unless I tell him about a dream or otherwise process it when I first wake up, it is gone.
dianah, sorry about the ants. At least they are usually pretty easy to get rid of. Gearing up for a new season of festivals sounds fun.
Stars, progress, progress, progress. Stick to your guns that rehab is the #1 priority, then you can work together on making plans for Nannie. I, too, need a haircut and keep putting off scheduling it.
The new kitty, whom the guys have named Binx (from Hocus Pocus), had a vet checkup today. He has a heart murmur. So we need to watch for symptoms of heart failure. If the information associated with his microchip is correct, he is over 6 years old. The vet's assessment showed an estimate of 3. And the microchip company info says he's neutered but the vet isn't so sure. He does spray Twin A (and only Twin A). At the vet's office they looked for scars from stitches and didn't find them but I guess he's not well endowed or something because they initially thought he *was* neutered. I guess we'll schedule him for the procedure. Oddly, his chip number is also registered with another company, with another owner name. I completed the found pet form and have not heard anything on that one, either. I am a little less than impressed so far with the microchip experience.
Made a lot of progress today with chart abstractions. (As in, I think it's completed. Just need to check a couple of things).
Hubby's very upset with his dgt. She actually told him that she didn't appreciate him getting her daughters upset when he had called them. He's got emotions bursting out of him, and he can't help it. She was also mad because when she said, "Why didn't you call me back after I called you TWICE last night?" She said she was worried he might have fallen or got hurt. Yuh, but she will not come down here to give us a break taking care of Nannie. She has been here 4 times in 6 years and hubby is angry because nobody in his family is willing to help even the least little bit. He said she is beyond selfish.
I sat and listened to him cry and talk for nearly an hour. Right now he has no idea how GOOD it will be when he doesn't have to be around Nannie for the time he is in rehab. He is really close to cracking. When he said something about waiting 'til Monday for getting some more preps made and get him what he needs to GO, WHEN he goes.....I reminded him that the guy we talked to said they were open 24/7/365 and if he needed to go there at 3 AM, it would be fine, so we don't have to 'wait' for the W/E to pass before we do anything. I said I am trying to make sure things are ready for him to leave to get started through this process, so, it isn't going to take a long time. I am EAGER to get this train rolling!
Another cool, damp day here. The Seattle news is predicting single digits over the weekend. Ick. After my jog this morning I went to the credit union to get my signature notarized for a pension document and then an oil change. So exciting ! I did treat myself to a Starbucks skinny vanilla latte to sip on while I waited. I need to call for an appointment to get my Medicares (G&D) set up.
Rarely, I will have a vivid dream that I will remember. It usually entails searching for something or someone.
Annie, it sounds like there was a mix up in the kitty's tag info. My dog has a murmur, and we are just watching and waiting. He doesn't seem to have any ill effect. I paid for an echo last year, which the vet insisted was necessary to decide his medication, and he doesn't need any.
Stay firm, NoStars! You can do this!
Waffles was found as a stray and is chipped. Didn't help find her owners, so I have her.
Ellie had a hear murmur discovered at age 2 and lived to be 13 before heart and kidney failure got her. The last two years she was on medication.
Waffles is sick. Came home to a mess looks like it came out of both ends. She eats the garbage and who knows what has her upset. Maybe something she picked up on her walk last night. She seems hydrated so I'll just watch it and let her fast until she wants to eat.
Joe, glad you had a good day.
Stars, that's the right language "when you go to rehab...soon" no excuses, no "if you go to rehab..when you decide...". Set the expectation and a perhaps a deadline. He'll come up with all kinds of excuses like his daughter drama, nanny, not wanting to leave you.
Work was okay. I was a free charge today so not a bad deal.
I gave Waffles a little bit of pesto bismol and she ate her bedtime treat. She's up drinking water now. Hopefully she'll eat her breakfast soon. No more vomiting and diarrhea.
I think I've got my stuff to do get my taxes done this weekend. I made about $12,000 less than last year because of cutting back on overtime and bonuses. But it's more of an average salary for me so I won't complain.

Another quiet day at work yesterday, one of the quietest this week. Hoping the trend continues for at least one more day. I know sooner or later things will pick up again
