Tweety I suspect that will likely be true, but going to give it a shot anyway, if for no other reason than to make sure I'm doing my yoga right

Stars I can imagine it's a pain to have to take Lasix, hopefully the doctor explained this to him beforehand

Dianah I can see how camping in the cold with no hookups could be unpleasant

Ado I also find it easier to make healthier choices when the weather is better

Weather was not good yesterday, cold and rainy and windy, only let up later in the evening once I was back from church

Work was pretty good despite the meeting, was actually pretty slow. Hopefully today will be the same

The weather made grocery shopping tricky but I did manage to get it done.  Afterwards went to Ash Wednesday services.  Small crowd, but they have a 2nd service at noon which probably attracted a larger crowd

Have tomorrow off so today is my Friday.  Will do the usual hot bath and white Russian after work.  Might try and go for a walk after work too

Rain has stopped, will get up to about 40 today

Morning all!

It is bitter cold, again. Temp in the 20s and northeast wind howling. We had a little skiff of snow yesterday, but it has all blown away. I tried to go for a run yesterday, but I just couldn't tolerate the cold wind on my face. And the wind kept blowing my hat off. I saw an insurance broker yesterday and signed up for my Medicare supplements. I think I have everything paperwork wise for retirement. My coworkers brought me a birthday cake and a card yesterday, which was sweet. And we went out to dinner with eldest ds and DIL to a Vietnamese restaurant. I had a yellow curry with tofu and brown rice. Nom, nom.

I used to work with cardiac patients and I saw a lot of relief when they diuresed after Lasix.   I also saw a few that got into trouble when they skipped doses to travel. When my sis took it, she said it helped her to sleep because she could lie down. It seems like it only had limited relief for liver failure patients; they often needed to get tapped to get the fluid off.

I have gardening class today, and then I hope to run if the wind dies down.

It is partly cloudy, very windy and...84 degrees! ?

I didn't want to get up this morning, but I couldn't go back to sleep, so I got up and then got Nannie up and gave her the usual yogurt, meds, and cranapple juice. When I first got up, hubby was laying down on his bed; he got up to BR, and then said, "I'm going back to bed." I guess he changed his mind, because he ain't there! Maybe he is out in the Ford listening to the radio, and I suppose he has nipped on the little bottles of vodka. Will find out later when he comes back inside.

I feel bummed out today. I am tired of the routine. There is plenty for me to get busy at, but I. just. don't. want. to. do. anything. Blah.

Hubby called the 02 supplier to c/o his condenser not working right. I had told him that probably it needed to have the filters washed, dried, and put back. As he was telling the person on the phone that he had waited on hold for 17 minutes (!) without them answering the phone. (Yes, they were understaffed.)  I went upstairs and took care of the filters. When I came back down to the den, hubby told me that I could've told him about the filters needing to be cleaned. I did tell him. He says I didn't. I said I did. He told me I let him make a fool of himself. I didn't...he did that all on his own because he doesn't want to listen to me. Blah.

Guess I better occupy my brain somehow so I don't go: ?

Went for the annual mammogram today. And that's about as exciting as it gets. At the office we are having a "biggest loser" challenge for the next few weeks. The timing coincides well with my renewed willingness to be a bit more disciplined. Yes, I suppose I experience a little SAD, as I think many people do. After all, I grew up here where there are 139 sunny days per year, on average. Then for some reason moved to Indiana, where there are 88. Winter in the Midwest is just dark, cold, and depressing. But there are some beautiful Summer and fall days. Funny, I would have guessed Oklahoma would have more than 139 sunny days, as that's still quite a bit less than half.

Today it was 26 degrees when I left home, but now it is 43. It's a bit breezy. The sun is out (and bright!). I guess I won't be making it to San Antonio this weekend. I want to make that trip before it gets really HOT down there. Because, while I don't like to be cold, I don't want to be too hot, either.

But enough about the weather! Aaand I don't have anything else to talk about ?

Welp, hubby apologized to me, saying that I probably had told him about cleaning the filters on the condenser. He was right that time, I DID tell him about it.

So, he asked if we might go out to get Chinese food for our supper. We did that and I had a large bowl of egg-drop soup with crunchy noodles and green onions. Then I got a plate of food and after 4 bites, I couldn't fit anything more in my stomach. I got a to-go-container to bring the food home. Would hate to waste good Chinese food! But ooooh that soup was GOOD!

Since Nannie doesn't care for anything except "American food" (and sometimes a little Italian food if it's not too spicy.) I made her a chicken pot pie in the microwave, and she was happy with that and green peas, and her favorite Snack-Pak chocolate pudding.

Still a drag of a day, even with the beautiful weather. Another 20 minutes until the news comes on. (But I don't expect that will cheer me up any---)

Good evening.  I was in charge with a two-patient assignment so stayed busy.

We have a lot of sunshine here.  "With an average of 361 days of sunshine annually, and a Guinness World Record for the most consecutive days of sunshine (768 days between 1967 and 1969), it is nicknamed "The Sunshine City."

I'm not sure it's that many but definitely a lot.

Hello all.

Quiet day today.  I took care of some biz-ness stuff.  Dh did the online jam.  I made lists (food planning) for our trip.

It has been cloudy and stormy all day.  We heard really loud thunder twice today, lots of rumblings.  It hailed twice.  Storm predicted to continue for two more days.

Good to hear from you all.  Have a good evening.

Tweety, You reminded me of way back in 1975 when I was living in Newburyport, Mass.....My ex-bro-in-law was camping out on my sofa for a week or so. It was summertime and we hadn't had any rain in a long while, so when I got up one morning, we looked outside and there was the sun once again beating down on us all. I groaned and said, "Oh no! Not another sunny day!" Then, realizing how ridiculous it sounded to c/o a sunny day, we got hysterical laughing.....Another one of those things where you had to be there....but it was awfully funny to us!

So, thanks for the memory!

I was in Palm Springs for a week one May and never saw one single cloud.  Perfectly sunny the whole time.   It was exactly 102 every single day for a high, but very pleasant at night.  I thought "isn't this boring?".  While we have a lot of sunshine I do like our Summer thunderstorms.
