I'm sitting in class, while the instructor is attempting to orient the class to the online learning platform and she's really mucking it up. Oh well. I've taught with this platform, called Canvas, so I feel pretty comfortable. And I don't mind taking quizzes, which seems to be freaking others out.
I like to pay it forward at drive up coffee stands.
The weather is slowly warming up, it may get to 60 today. I meant to post pictures of the snow from Tuesday.
Howdy~
Grey, wet, raining off and on, quite chilly!
No email from the rehab place, maybe because I'm 'the wife' asking the question? I dunno, but shame on them for not answering at all. It is almost like we MAY have to try the facility that has been NOT recommended because it has a poor reputation, and I don't know if they have a residential program, but I guess I'll have to look into it. Though he has not been actively helping with this %$^&)* rehab search.......at least for now, hubby has actually been better about not drinking himself into oblivion every day and night.
Made an appt w/ my PCP for next week but am on the list if an earlier appt time comes open before then. All I have to do is ask for a re-authorization for the Alprazolam, because it's been 6 months since my last appt and we all know that "them's the rools!" But I will probably also bend his ear a bit about both of his other patients I am having to deal with. Nannie is still on her zonked-out sleep routine and hubby does a lot of sleeping, also, avoiding the world, I guess.
Oh, and in the last 2-3 days hubby has developed bilateral pedal pitting edema! But does he follow my STRONG suggestion to elevate his feet? HA! Is he willing to get an earlier appt w/ PCP (his is on the 16th) HA! Does he realize this is absolutely NOT something you should ignore? HA!
Do I wonder if it's a neck-and-neck race between the two of them to see who gets worser and worser first? Honestly, this absolutely sucks raw donkey eggs out loud. (that was one of my younger brother's friend's expressions when they were in middle school.)
It is almost time for the dreaded SUPPER QUESTION. UGH!
Ah, the dreaded supper question. Sorry, Stars. Wish I could whisk you away for a girls' night out.
Nice pictures, J22. Snow is pretty, I'll give it that.
Hope you're having a better day, Joe.
It's 42 and partly sunny today, though there was loose, wet ice on the car when I left for work this morning. Hubs sent a picture of himself (in coat and hat) sitting in the convertible with the top down. No, he's not experiencing any Winter blues. ?
Stepdaughter sent a text yesterday that she was meeting with the attorney this morning to resign as her brother's guardian. She said "and this is why" and attached a screen shot of stuff he had sent her where he said "that b*tch [his grandmother] is going to live longer than all of her kids or I'll kill all of yours and make them into tiny peoples cadavers"
That might be the worst comment he's made to anyone. I don't think he'd actually do anything but it is awful enough to say it. I actually think it should be reported to the police as a threat. He is once again alienating anyone who ever cared about him.
In better news, stepdaughter and her girlfriend are engaged. This young woman has been really good for her and I'm happy for them.
Good evening.
Stars, sorry to hear about Mr. Stars' ongoing issues.
Pay-it-forward sure makes people feel good. But I'm in the minority opinion. First of all if you're buying a $3 to $5 coffee, you can afford it. Second if someone does it for me, it will make me smile and realize how nice people can be, which is the point, but now I'm obligated to pay it forward. LOL. I have a monthly budget for charity and that's all I do, I'm not a total scrooge.
Work was okay because I was a free charge for both sides. But it was busy with admits and discharges.
Speaking of budget, I overspent my budget yet again last month. Not sure what to cut out. I even cashed in $40 in change to soften the blow. But it's always something and prices are so high here.
Nice pictures!
I turned on my air conditioner for a bit last night so I could sleep, but won't tonight. It's not as stuffy tonight.
Have a great evening.
nursej22, great photos! Hope it's not a mess to drive in. Sorry to hear about stepson's declarations, though not surprised by them. ?
Re: budget: We are making festival plans, which entail pre-paying for the festival tickets and for RV camping. It all takes $$$$. Bluegrass on the Beach, at Lake Havasu City, is in March. Parkfield is in -- Parkfield (kinda Central Calif; haven't decided if we are going to that one). Grass Valley Father's Day Bluegrass Festival is in June - and we decided to go, joining several friends from this area who are also making the trek up north for it). That is followed by Susanville Bluegrass Festival, the next weekend and just a little north of Grass Valley. Summergrass is in August. Then, that's probably it for us. May schedule a week or two camping, too.
I got my driver's license renewed. With an appointment, it was very easy. Next renewal, in five years, I will need to take the test, as I will be over 70 years old. Will cross that bridge when I come to it.
No Stars, is there a phone number to the preferred facility or are you required to ONLY use email to contact them?? Hope your patients sleep/are subdued.
Question: has your (collective) budget been adjusted for inflation?? Just asking.
Nice day today, clear and 62 degrees. Mountains full of snow. Beautiful vistas.
Have a good evening!
The grocery and utility bills have certainly been affected by inflation so a budget reassessment is in order.
dianah, my sister turned 70 a year ago. She recently told me she missed renewing her license because during Covid they had to make appointments and she never got that done. And now she will have to take a test and she's worried about it and putting it off. I suppose that means she's driving without a license. I'm afraid to ask. Her son does live with her but he's got his own life.
Living with Gma is like living with a toddler. Last night at dinner she had to have one of the blue bowls for her chili. Tonight when Hubs took her plate and glass from the table she yelled, "That's MINE WHY did you take it away?"
"Because it needs to be washed"
"It WAS washed. You're a son of a b*tch"
(Hubs: smirks)
"Oh, go ahead and grin. You're a sh!tass"
On and on... earlier she wouldn't leave the bathroom without the hand mirror because "it's mine". Once a hoarder, always a hoarder I guess. Sometimes I think I married into the crazy family.

The clerk who helped me said during Covid, the test-taking was waived for "the seniors, and they were SO HAPPY! Many were really nervous, they hadn't taken a test in many years!" I would be happy to not take it, but I don't wish Covid on anyone to make that happen!

Stars I hope you can get an answer on the oxygen concentrator soon, frustrating not to know how to proceed. Tweety may be right, at this point for her hospice might be appropriate and helpful
Ado glad he's speaking to you and that you have some time off
NJ22 it seems new medical records systems are always accompanied by glitches
Tweety glad your parents are doing better
Dianah that was nice of them to do that
Work wasn't too bad although I didn't get the slow day I was hoping for, as I got 2 new cases. Would like to help some of the others out but so far I have not had the time. And we have a meeting today, so I probably won't have time today to help either
Got the grocery shopping done pretty quick despite having to stop at 2 stores. Got a birthday card from Hallmark for my nephew, have to return there today as the envelope provided was too small
Was a tad down yesterday although gradually felt better as the day went on
Tonight have an online meeting with the evangelism group, hope it's not too long
Will get up to 30 today but will be in the single digits tomorrow
