Good morning!

I have a friend that does a zoom dinner with her brother.  I guess it started during the pandemic but she's kept it up.  They have a theme, such a "Indian food night" and share what they are eating and visit. It sounds nice because they are living far away from each other.

Ado, I too hate sleet.  Seems like where I lived in eastern NC back in the day growing up we got more sleet than snow.  Snow was a oddity.

Stars, I actually don't blame your husband for getting mad at the guy for the "now or never" offer and threat to raise it.  A proper business makes an estimate and then gives it to the customer and waits.  But also understand you're wanting to get it done.   Hope he is feeling better.

Sadly, waking up to the news that Russia attacked Ukraine as expected.  Nothing we can really do but watch it unfold I suppose.

I had a decent uneventful day off.  Working today and tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning Tweety.  That is sad news, but not unexpected.

Ado hope things aren't too slippery there

NJ22 that's exactly how they do it, although it is awkward.  Thanks for sharing the recipe

Stars hope you can get a good deal on the tree removal

Better day at work, think I'm pretty much getting used to the new system.  Hoping today will be better still, still some stress of having to adjust and still get all of the work done

Went grocery shopping and had choir practice, only 2 people this time.  I find it harder to sing as the number of people decreases, easier when there's more voices

Expecting snow this afternoon, temps will be in the upper 20s

Tweety, I'm saddened by the events in Ukraine. Feeling helpless.

Joe, we are a small choir and my inability to attend every week doesn't help. Especially when, like this week, we don't get to have rehearsal on a night I could be there! I miss having more voices. Our strongest soprano is dealing with family issues in another state after the death of her mother. The pastor and I hold down the alto section. ?

It is still icy and about 22 degrees. The guys went out for some groceries. I have important business to do at the bank but will wait. The zoo is closed so no work for Twin A.

My big news is a call from the CEO this morning. When he took the job a few months ago he promised me a position which combines regulatory reporting and infection prevention. Contingent on them finding a night-shift nurse. Which they didn't. A few weeks ago our nurse manager was given that position and no one said a word to me. Now she's quitting (for real this time I guess) and he is offering me the job at least on an interim basis. To start tomorrow. I'm going to give it a go but lots of mixed feelings here.

Everybody sing "HALLELUJAH!!

This morning as the tree guys across the street were finishing cleaning up, hubby finally decided to go over there and talk turkey. They said for $1200 they will cut the large jutting branches from the other nearby trees that will be blocking the way, and then cut off all the limbs from the big tree before they lay the tree trunk in several pieces down in the back yard. In fact it already has started and Nannie is having a really good time watching limbs and branches fall on the ground. The guy in the bucket truck is hovering way up over the peak of the roof tossing branches and big limbs....THUD! THUNK! And sawdust is raining down, covering the back deck (which has not been in use for years because it is an unsafe wreck). They may only be able to get part of the work done today and finish it up tomorrow. I don't care how long it takes. They won't have to do the clean up job they did across the street (and they did do a GOOD job cleaning up over there.).

I cannot tell you HOW relieved I am about this activity. Our good neighbor said he could start cutting up the wood on Sunday and trolley it over to his back yard. it will probably take a while for him to get it done, but it will be for free. He'll have enough wood to burn for two winters at least!

Hate the news about Russia and Ukraine, especially after I saw the damage that the Russians have caused...crashed houses and people with bloody wounds. UGH. Guess Putin thinks he is some kind of big hotshot; he's just a lying skunk. Also read that FOX news had to cut off an interview with Trump who kept trying to say Putin was a good man, and all this Russian military action is connected the the "stolen 2020 election. Yuh, sure.

Anyway, I'm going to go back to observing the back and side yard as things fall and pile up. Prolly will come back by later.

Oh....y'know I said it was predicted to be 76 degrees or so today? It's only about 55. So much for weathermen!

Been sleeting on & off here in NJ. I had just been thinking I hadn't seen sleet for a while. DO NOT LIKE these temp changes - too dramatic swings.

Joy, oh Joy!  Got my home delivery - store made some unexpected product changes, but I can live with them. But JOY that I rec'd my canned soup. I only like 1 can soup (other than Campbell's tomato and cream of mushroom). Went  to my pantry other nite, but none! Soooo disappointed to not have a bowl of soup.

Also got a delivery of pitted prunes - who'd thunk it would make me happy.

Annie - that job offer sounds a bit wishy-washy to me. Not my decision but it may just work out OK for you. GOOD LUCK!

stars - I thought freshly cut big trees needed to 'mature' the wood for firewood purposes. But what do I know re firewood? Have my fireplace that I haven't used foe 25 yrs or so.

Tweety - I like that zoom dinner idea.

amoLu~ The neighbor already has a good # of wood logs he's been collecting every chance he gets, so what is green from our tree will have a chance to age before it is used.
