Hello. It rained all day yesterday, and will likely rain all day today. Some people call this time of year the "big dark".
We deferred volunteering at the gardens, due to the rain. There may have been a chance to work in the greenhouse, but one of the other volunteers like to impress on everyone how much she knows and that just wears on me. Just before weed class started, dd called to see if I could take one of her boys to an appointment. She double booked herself and felt compelled to attend an HR meeting with a disgruntled employee who doesn't want to do her job but dd, as her supervisor, is bullying her. So anyway, I pick up grandson, we are going down the street, and a car darts out from my left, into my lane. Eek! I step on my brakes hard, the car slides a little (I'm only going 25) and I just barely tap her. So we pull over, assure no one is hurt, I have a wee scratch, and I get grandson to his appointment 10 minutes late. This is almost the same scenario I had last year, but ended up totaling my car.
So I attended about half of weed class, which I really like. dh was miffed because he thought somehow I was prioritizing grandson over him? We had already planned to eat out, and he sort of thawed out over a hot sandwich for him, and street tacos for me.
I need to draft a newsletter, which needs a plant of the month, a tip of the month, and a list of upcoming events. It shouldn't take too long. I like to put in a photo or two, so I shall have to brave the drippiness and see what I can do.
Gad, Ado, motor oil! yuck! My hubby left a pan of motor oil in the garage once. My eldest, who was about 2 at the time, got into it, found a paint brush, and painted oil on the interior of the garage.
Stars, I do wish you could get some respite of some kind. I'll be Tinker is cute in her little parka.
Tweety, Waffles treatment plan sounds like one I had. 2 different drops 3-4 hours apart, and an ointment at night. It did work, eventually.
Joe, I hope you CEUs are at least interesting. Sometimes, they are a little dry.
Dianah, that is really neat that the station liked you stuff. Can they play your already recorded CDs as filler?
I think I will go for a walk.
Nursej22, how scary for you and grandson, glad no one was hurt and very minimal damage to the car! Sounds like a busy day -- and then to deal with the rain!
The station is visually oriented, wants music and they film us playing. We always said (wink wink) we were the eye candy, LOL! (To look at us =NO!) They like the fingers moving on the instruments. So, our CDs would not fill the bill.
Today I will make a cranberry orange bread for Saturday's potluck-and-jam. I am going to make two: a "regular" one to bring, and then a lower-carb one for us at home.
Ado, kittens can get into lots of trouble! Ewwww, and oil? Glad the Dawn took care of it.
No Stars, I HOPE some respite care can be arranged!
Have a good evening!
Gma is reportedly doing well at the home. I am not accomplishing as much as I had hoped but the break is nice.
The convertible is in the shop for major engine repairs. It's always something with old cars. Hubs says, "It's still less than buying a new car."
We had a good 3" of snow overnight. It will be mostly gone by the end of the day but it was pretty.
J22, that's scary and I'm glad there was only minor damage and no injury.
dianah, how neat that the station wants more of your music!
I have two cranberry-orange breads in the oven. They look the same but are not! The one on the right (it's 'right' for us, LOL!) is the lower-carb version: almond flour with a little coconut flour, and some stevia mixed with brown sugar. The one on the left is the 'regular' bread version: wheat flour and sugar. I used up my three oranges, juicing and zesting them for the recipes. If I want to do an orange glaze, I will have to get more oranges this afternoon or tomorrow. I may just do a thin cream cheese-butter-powdered sugar frosting on both. I want to bring the 'regular' bread to the jam on Saturday. The other one -- the 'right' one! -- is for dh and me!
Ado, enjoy the break from Gma!
Good evening.
Don't think I'd like the "big dark" at all. Especially if it's cold ,I.e. less than 70.
Work was very busy with lots of coming and going. Had a patient have the nerve to complain of chest pain and shortness of breath. (After calling me a four-eye f bomb)
Off tomorrow. Waffles has a follow up with the ophthalmologist tomorrow to see if the treatment is having any effect or not. I think it is but she's still squinting some. She's been a good patient thank goodness.

Dianah that's cool that you're going to have a regular spot on TV
Stars it probably is some sort of stress triggered IBS
Tweety hope the next shift is easier, and you don't have to do the eye drops for too long
Work turned out to be busier than expected yesterday, but thankfully not too busy. Just usual routine stuff. And hopefully getting that stuff done yesterday will make the next 2 days be easier
After work stopped at the library, exercised and worked on the CEU I started on Mon. For some reason things were working fine yesterday
Today have a side project to work on, so hopefully today won't be too busy. Nothing else planned for today except exercise
Going to be quite cold today, only getting up to the mid teens
