Tweety I also get anxious about stuff I can't control.  My mind has decided that if I can't control things, I can at least worry about them so they won't be a surprise when they happen

Stars I'm glad he's taking it easy today.  A dog probably would be a bit too much with everything else you have to manage

Ado that is a strange arrangement for a hospital.  Hope he gets his refill soon

NJ22 I had plans to be productive last night but got distracted by YouTube and Wikipedia

Dianah mindfulness could be a help, I've also used cognitive behavioral techniques for sleep

Work thankfully was quiet yesterday, as I had hoped it would be between the holidays

After work was fairly quiet too, the political group decided to cancel the meeting.  So I went grocery shopping and that was it.  Was going to be productive but got distracted by a YouTube videos about ship sinkings and a Wikipedia article about mysterious deaths of hikers in the Ural Mountains.  So many distractions these days

Today should be fairly quiet as well.  Will exercise after work, will also text J and see how his trip to Pittsburgh went

Will get up to the 50s today, will be able to wear short sleeves.  Odd for this time of year

Good Morning (afternoon, really)~

Nannie is getting a little independent ... like, last night she decided she was going to go to bed while I was sitting outside on the front porch, and managed to use her remote to raise herself up to get out of her chair, and was sitting on the toilet when I appeared. I helped by changing one of her 2 pads she puts into her pull-up, and then she got herself off the toilet and pulled up her britches, and came into her bedroom. I helped her take her boots off and get under the covers. .....

And just a while ago when I got up, I was making a cup of coffee and looked downstairs and she was in the recliner already, with different pants on and she put her boots on by herself (little ankle boots that zip up on the inner ankle area.) She had made her bed, which was only a little damp in one spot, so I peeled the covers back and turned the ceiling fan on high. Am not sure if I gave her the AM pills, but I'm not going to wake her up to see if she remembers (HA!). She is talking in her sleep, but I can't understand her.

Hubby seems not too snockered and he had also reclined in his chair and was sleeping. But he woke up and said something like, "You reckon I ought to go over to the glasses place and ask  him to fix whatever it is" .... (he sees some area that is "wrong.") I had not planned on going out but he is also out of the Pepsi Zero he drinks. I don't want him driving when he has imbibed. I told him that he is going to owe me some "vacation days" when he gets sober.

I'll be back in a while, I'm sure.

Hello all!

Joe, hope things remain quiet during this week.  YouTube can be vastly entertaining, and take up lots of time!  I find the same is true when looking things up on Google.  A phrase comes to mind and I MUST look it up and find out its history!

No Stars, I hope today continues uneventful for you.

Our jam for New Year's Day has been cancelled, the host(ess) is sick, probably with the same thing we had.

I may go to the grocery store later, haven't decided yet.  It is cloudy out but no predictions of rain yet.  Rain predicted for the weekend.

Sorry, nothing exciting to report! ?

Have a good afternoon/evening!

It is 63 and sunny here. I got a new bicycle for Christmas with thoughts of riding it to work on nice days. I don't think I'm quite ready yet. It isn't 63 early in the morning.

Joe:  "My mind has decided that if I can't control things, I can at least worry about them so they won't be a surprise when they happen" -- so much this.

Hubs picked up his refill today so maybe he won't be so crabby.

The day at the hospital started out with drama but I think it's resolved. Unfortunately, we now have 4 staff members out with Covid. Only one nurse scheduled for Friday and Saturday night (and no aide) so guess who will be on call for New Year's Eve?

I picked out some e-meal recipes and scheduled a WalMart pick-up tomorrow evening. Also scheduled myself for the bivalent Covid booster and a shingles vaccine tomorrow after work. *That* I will cancel if it's looking like I'll need to work Friday night.

its 40 degrees and raining here. I did get out for a 2 mile jog earlier, before the rain started. I did some of the sorting and discarding that I meant to do yesterday. dh and youngest ds left to have lunch with MIL to celebrate their birthdays, which are on the 27th and 30th. I set up a consultation for a new tattoo for next Monday. I want to get a line drawing of my dog, probably on my wrist. dh got me a gift certificate for running head phones that I will try to use tomorrow, and pick up the photos for tattoo ideas that I ordered.

The bay and park that I like to cycle around was flooded this week, so I wonder if it took out the road. Maybe I'll get dh to go for a drive this weekend and check it out. I would ride to work, if was a little closer. 13 miles each way is a bit far for me.

Good afternoon.

Joe, 50's is jacket weather not short sleeves.  LOL

Was out discharging a patient and the weather is beautiful.

Paint job went well.  Nice dark blue color.

It's just too hot and muggy here to ride a bike to work and the Summer rains are unpredictable.  Plus I have bad luck with bikes.  So many flat tires and three thefts when a bicycle was my only means of transportation.  Hated it.

I hate being on call.

Have a good evening and day tomorrow.
