Tweety hope you feel better

Ado that was nice that you got out

Hi Dianah

NJ22 a half day sounds nice

Stars the cat is 10.  Glad your DH wasn't hurt too badly

The cat is better, turns out it was just a large hairball.  This morning she seems back to normal.  Thankfully we can hold off on the vet for now

But then I find out yesterday my dad is in the hospital for IV antibiotics for a bad UTI.  Apparently he was visiting his girlfriend,  felt weak and fell.  He said he'd be discharged either today or tomorrow but overall is doing fine

The  rest of the day was pretty unremarkable, work wasn't too bad and did the grocery shopping as usual.  Talked to J, he is still feeling better with the improved sleep and med adherence

Still have tomorrow off despite not going to the convention.  Will go to the arboretum instead.  Will meet up with J that evening

Going to be a rainy morning  here, temps will get up to about 80

Good morning, Joe. Glad the cat's OK. Hoping your dad gets better with no complications. The arboretum sounds like a nice day.

Hubs did go to choir practice with me. It is good for him to get out of the house and have a break from Gma and some social contact besides the bunch of us. And I enjoyed having him there with me ?

The pastor and I celebrated the news about student loans. Her daughter has a large one from graduate school. Both my boys will benefit and I think I will, too (a Parent Plus loan).

Had a good night and think the gabapentin helped this time. Still afraid to take it during the day.

Good news about your kitty, Joe. One does worry though, as our pets get older. I am sorry about your dad. I hope he is on the mend.

Ado, that is great that your hubs went out with you. I am gently working on mine, but if I push then I get snapped at. Congrats on some loan relief. I'm not sure if my dd still has some, but it certainly help if she does.

I am sitting here waiting for the repair guy (tapping foot). I would like to walk the dog before it gets too hot, but I don't want to leave the house and miss him. I am nearly packed for my flight at noon. I am always tucking in stuff last minute, like charger cords and tylenol. I washed and refilled the hummingbird feeder, got all the outside plants watered and the bird baths refilled. Is supposed to get hot today and tomorrow. Hmm, I just remembered I need to charge my e-reader...

See ya

Safe travels, nursej22, and hope the conference is good!

Our youngest and his wife will benefit from the school loan forgiveness too.

Ado, good your dh came with you to choir practice!  Good to hear the gabapentin is helping.

Joe, a day off (even if you are not attending the convention) is good for a person!  Enjoy the arboretum and dinner with J!

Not much going on here.  It's still in the 90's during the day.  Dh returned the RV to the storage area.  Yesterday I did some grocery shopping, and hit the HFS for some vitamins.  So, that was my great outing!  Today I will likely watch some Time Team episodes.  And I need to get started sewing, to replace kitchen curtains.  They are old and some are torn and stained.  I have the fabric cut out, just haven't gotten the sewing machine out yet.

OK, time for breaky!

Have a good day!

Mid-afternoon~

Welp, I got up earlyish (for me) today ... 10:30AM. Today is pick up all the trash from the house trash-containers, and put the trash and recycling bins out at the street for pick-up tomorrow. Also paid all the bills (I am now doing ALL that now because OMG you should see hubby's spidery/shaky hand-writing.) Hubby went to a restaurant for some of their hot-dog chili, because he plans on us eating hotdogs for supper tonight.

Joe, Good your dad got tx for UTI. And glad your cat is better. Hope J stays well enough to go out tomorrow evening.

Ado- Choir practice??? Does this, perhaps, mean your hubs is interested in joining the choir or was that just a one-night outing? It's good you got to escape the Gma and see other adult people.

j22- Hope your repairman showed up! Have a good trip/conference.

dianah, We need new curtains, too, but I am not a sewing-fan. The curtains Nannie has up in the bathrooms are dirty, covered with dust, and thread-bare thin in some areas. Actually the windows all need replacing d/t caulking being horribly dry and peeling up and most windows are painted closed so ya can't open them. (something like 12 windows....ie, NOT CHEAP!)

Weather is in the low 80's and overcast and yes, still HUMID!

Ditched the old clogs of hubby's and he is happy with the canvas shoes the neighbor gave him. YAY! Now, though, if he falls again, he won't have the clogs to blame.

AUGH! Electric bill is going up $30/mo because of the price of natural gas (!?!) to run the electrical stations has gone way up. Medicare supplements have already gone up this year....hubby's by nearly $40/mo. Our insurance guy can't find a cheaper coverage for him this year due to all his 'conditions' (sounds better than 'multiple co-morbidities'.)

Convinced hubby to let me re-brace his little finger which got insult to injury during this most recent fall. The doc said he didn't think it got broken the first time, but it is still ...or once again ... swollen and very uncomfortable because he accidentally whacks it against things or subconsciously forgets it's hurt and tries to pick up things ... or even wrap his hand around the steering wheel. The bandages I put on his newest skin tears did stay on all night, so that's good. And I told him it is my opinion that he fell to get new skin tears BECAUSE he has just finished picking all the old scabs off his previous wounds!

Time to hit the waste-baskets. Nannie's bathroom wastebasket needs to be emptied every 24 hours. Hubby asked if she is using too many pads, but she soaks every single one of them FULL of urine, making the plastic grocery bags very, VERY HEAVY! Too bad that indwelling foley's aren't acceptable anymore. Those pkgs of pads cost between $20-$30 for about 38-52 in a package.

I think I will go sit outside for a while, because I don't see myself doing any of my chores at the present time. The chores are always here to be taken care of no matter what day it is, so Ppfftt to them!

Time will tell. He is a moody man and we can't blame substances except for his refusal to take antidepressants. But for now we'll assume he's going to commit to it, for a while at least. The guys in our choir are fun. Of course, this means going to church when the choir sings. But just the other day when we drove past the church he said "I miss church" so maybe he's willing. It's just a little hard with his mom. Twin B doesn't get up earlier than noon if he can help it and Twin A is usually working on Sundays.

G'day.

J22, safe travels.

Joe, glad your cat is okay.

I felt better after having lunch.  I'm pretty hardy and can eat when I'm nauseous and usually feel better.

I haven't heard from my sister but apparently my mother and father agreed to a short stay in a SNF for some rehab with her broken arm and bad knee.  Hope it helps. I wanted her to go last admission but no one listens to me.

Well, Tweety, you're a nurse; why would any family member listen to any of your advice?

I think there's many of us that could say that about our own lives and our significant others!

It makes me feel a little bit like Rodney Dangerfield: "I don't get no respect!"
