Hello all. Here at work, trying to snap at people. The crazy job share left a pile of stuff to shovel through, and very nice, OCD co-worker is upset that things aren't done exactly the way she would have done. I have no explanation for what the crazy does or doesn't do; I just try to figure out the necessary and move on. Only 7 more months. Just keep swimming, just keep swimming...OCD coworker is also upset that students from a local BSN program are working on a project to help with our med inventory. She hates ceding control to other people and I keep reassuring that we don't have to adopt their methods. We are supposed to inventory monthly and it doesn't get done, But OCD insists it does, except when it doesn't. Sigh.
The day is cool and mostly cloudy, but there have been a few sun breaks. I don't think yesterday got above 50, today it may get to 60? It has been unseasonably cool, that's for sure. I have an appointment to get my bike adjusted tomorrow, we'll see if that helps.
Stars, yes, I did have an MRI the first week of March, and it didn't show anything that should be causing the pain. Apparently it muscular, although I've been doing recommended stretches, and rolling, and massages, not much helps. I have one more massage scheduled, and then I think I will just resign myself to it: aching around sacrum, tightness in hamstrings, unable to sit for more than 20 minutes at a time. Driving can be tough. I don't want to go back to doctor because I sense they think I'm drug-seeking, which I most definitely am not.
I don't think I've ever seen a Maine Coon Cat, they sound beautiful.
Got to get back at it.
Howdy~
The cat search hasn't started yet in earnest. Hubby said he wouldn't mind a mixed-breed cat "because Maine Coons require a lot of grooming", ie a daily brushing. Probably daily brushing wouldn't hurt regardless of what kind of cat we end up getting, as I recall that my black and white cat, Fletcher, would leave black fur on my light colored clothes and white fur on my dark clothing! Anyway, I think it's going to be a matter of going to the shelter and also asking around, maybe at various vet's offices in the area. I don't think it will be happening very soon, though who can tell? I'm going to have to have one that doesn't mind car rides, and that I can harness and leash train. We don't plan on letting the cat come and go as he/she pleases, because there are lots of predators around here.
And since hubby and I have also been daydreaming about driving back up to New England and finishing the 'tour' we started of my old stomping grounds, it will have to be a travel-tolerant cat. When we were up in New England last, it was years ago, and we had to cut our vacation short because hubby's cousin committed suicide. The thing was, we started back home immediately but couldn't get there in time for the funeral, so... Well, it seemed unnecessary to 'hurry' back, but we did. We never did go visit his aunt and uncle (his cousin's parents) once we got back, though he did spend time with them on the phone.
His dgt is doing just peachy-keen, and sounds 'back to normal'... Haven't heard yet what her med is, but I still want to find that out.
There's about 2 more weeks before hubby's appt w/ his PCP, and maybe another referral to his resp. doc about the left-side pain he has when he deep-breathes and especially if he sneezes. Maybe he needs to have fluid drawn out of the bottom of the left lung; maybe it's adhesions, and JUST MAYBE because he still smokes like a chimney. (!)
Nannie has been conked out all afternoon (except for when she had lunch.) Hubby has gone to get us an early supper. There is another ballgame tonight. Last night's game was a loss, as was the game before that.
Eenywho----right now I can't summon anything else from my brain to impart to y'all, so I'll submit my post for the time being.
Temporary halt to reporting to the powers-that-be because my software has to be upgraded and this apparently requires our IT and someone from CMS ... so back to another hurry-up-and-do-this project while I wait. And I'm supposed to work the floor Saturday night unless census is very low, which it often is. We shall see.
J22, your inventory comments remind me that I always said I was the only person who did the monthly crash cart checks (checking for out-of-date meds/inventory). I hope someone is doing that now. Guess I'd better make sure.
Twin A just called me because he had an interaction with a young lady at work that he's interested in, and that interaction made him think that she might be interested in him, too.
It's 81 degrees, overcast, and probably will be that way for the next week or more. I'll take it.
Oh-ooooooh-oh-OH YIPPEEEEEE!
Ronald Acuna Jr is back playing baseball TONIGHT after being out for 10+ months because of a knee injury. I doubt anyone here is a big Atlanta Braves fan, but I had to post this because Ronald Acuna Jr is such a FANTASTIC player, and *I* am just sooooo excited he's back!!!!!
w00t! woot! w00t!
nursej22, hang in there, retirement WILL happen! In the couple months before I retired, ppl would ask, "Are you excited?" "Well," I'd respond, "I'm trying not to think about it, because I have to pay attention to what's happening at work, so... " // So sad about your pain and I hear ya, you don't want to be "labeled," but still the issue (pain!) persists! And it is appropriate if you report back to your PMD what helps, and what doesn't.
w00t, No Stars, sounds like tonight's game will be one to watch!! Hope you can continue your "tour" sometime soon. With or without cat! Main Coons are beautiful, and yes, they are probably high-maintenance. None of our cats travel well but then again, they weren't raised traveling and being on a leash. I doubt if they would adapt now, as most of them are at least 7 years old. Stuck in their ways, they are. Hope dh's gdtr continues to improve.
Hello Ado! Ah, romance is on the horizon for Twin A, eh?? ?
Today was change sheets and towels, and then I hit a few stores for some items. Dropped off some mail to oldest ds, and got to chat for a few minutes and got a mom-hug ( ? ). When I got home, had lunch and then cooked. Prepared a new-fangled salad recipe and then a Cajun Chicken Pasta recipe. Guess we'll have them tonight, even though we have one more night of the lentil soup available. It's hard to turn down a new recipe, when its aroma has filled the house for the last hour or so!
Have a good evening!
Joe, hope you day went as well as the day prior.
J22, glad you weren't trying to snap at people and succeed in not doing so. Sounds challenging and annoying.
Ado, not sure I'd like working a night shift.
Stars, glad your step-daughter is doing better. I'm sure there's some good cat in a shelter needing forever home.
I had an annoying day. We had a patient fall and all kinds of foolishness.
