Hi Tweety

NJ22 looks more Spring like there than here

Dianah that is a lot of medications, glad my cat only has 1 currently.  2 if you count the hairball gel

Stars glad you got a break from her and found your cell phone

Work was good again yesterday, wasn't too busy but wasn't too slow either.  Had time to outreach my insurance regarding the pneumococcal and shingles vaccines.  They're considered a medical benefit so I called my doctor to see if they could give them at the next appointment.  They said they did the former but not the latter, so I scheduled the shingles at a local pharmacy.  Will be glad to get the shingles one, after my church friend D had such a bad case

Rest of the evening was pretty quiet, stayed in as it rained a lot.  Kept track of the weather down south, lots of tornado warnings it seemed.  Thankfully my aunt's town seemed to be spared

Today have the happy hour get together with the gay group, will go a little later in the evening as it seems most of the people arrive later on

Shouldn't be any rain today, although it will be colder, low 50s.  Think it will be cooler the next week or so

Yup, it is morning (8:45) and I am awake, with my eyes open 👀, and my laptop in my lap. I am sitting up in bed, leaning back on a pile of pillows, having the first cup of coffee and my AM meds.  Momo has had her breakfast. It is cloudy outside and supposed to pretty much stay that way, and the temp will climb from the current 65 degrees to the low 80's. I am hoping the 'forecast' for Nannie's state-of-being today will be compliant and then quietly compelled to do a heavy, longish nap!

No Chatty CG today; next week she is supposed to go back to every-Thursday- afternoon for 6 hours. SiL is "doing hair" today, but not mine, yet. If she waits too long to get to my trim I may have to do my haircut myself, because the length is really getting on my nerves! But, I have told her previously that I didn't want her to come over to cut my hair when she is in a busy-rush. So, I don't know when that may be!

As I now can see the bottom of my coffee cup, I believe I will put down the laptop and close my eyes. Last night I went down once to put Nannie back to bed, and found she had taken off the "3XL TENA overnight pads" .... but in the middle of the night I just said to myself "to heck with it". She still has on her pull-ups and is laying on a large chux. I prolly will have to strip and remake her bed, but honestly, last night I didn't care. So, she will wake up in a puddle of pee, and I'll have to wash her down before getting her dressed.

9:12 and my eyelids are getting heavy, so I am going to take pity and close the poor li'l thangs for a while longer. 😴

Woke up again at 11:15 AM. Got dressed and when we came down to the den I put a plate of dog food out, and you should have seen the look Momo gave me! She looked at the plate (from her spot on the sofa) then looked at me, then the plate, and again me. SHE knew I had already fed her, but *I* didn't remember I had done so. And she's not one of those dogs who will eat everything in sight even if they aren't hungry, soooo, guess I'll put some wrap over it and put it in the fridge for tomorrow (and will warm it up a bit before I give it back to her in the morning.)

Nannie is fiddling with her sleeves (so what else is new?!) and I am waiting for her eyes to get sleepy. This is the 'holding pattern'.....

PS: "There is something out there in the yard..." said Nannie, pointing. I didn't get up. I just asked, "Dog, cat, rabbit, bird, squirrel?" It was a bird, but if flew off, she told me. That's why I don't get up to look out to see what she is seeing. How is it remarkable that a bird would be in  our yard? I said, "Well, tell me if you see a giraffe or an elephant...."

There were lots of other tours going; it looks to be popular with tourists. Walking is tough because there are millions of bikes, and they always assume the right of way! After a nice lunch at a sidewalk cafe, we took a little nap. Then our tour guide led us to the Anne Frank museum via tram. We really got smushed in. We walked back, not so many bikes and pedestrians as the sun was setting. We had apple pie for dinner. I find much of the Belgium and Dutch food to be under seasoned and fatty. A popular snack is bitterballen, which is beef in gravy, shaped in a ball, breaded and deep fried. And fries and mayonnaise with everything.

My hubby would have loved the deep-fried beef ball with gravy and french fries. Anything deep-fried, just about!

Love the photos you are sending us, Had a funny thought tho....several photos of the backs of heads....just like with Harry and Meghan's photos of their children! (except not red-heads!)

PS: the horror-scope reports. MINE sez I will or should be joining the wild life tonight (as in a big gathering.) But Nannie's says she should use her LOGIC today. That;s a BIG laugh!

Hello all!

nursej22, thanks again for the photos and travel descriptions!  I, too, would have given a wary eye to bitterballen and other 'delicacies.'  And french fries and mayo with everything?  What is the nation's cardiovascular health?  Any issues with obesity?  Just curious...

No Stars, I hope Nannie naps soon and you have a more restful day than others have been.    Yay for new tires, though!

Joe, I hope your happy hour is a good one!

We had a good band practice yesterday afternoon.  A couple hours after we arrived back home, Toby seemed to have hurt one of his back legs.  He wasn't bearing weight on it.  He was up on the counters earlier, and we surmised he may have hurt it when getting down.  Didn't know if it was broken or dislocated or what.  *sigh*  We discussed things, and decided, with his Stage 3/4 renal failure and multiple meds (which he HATED getting) -- and now the leg issue, that this was no quality of life for him, such an independent, feisty, bright cat.  So last night we took him to be euthanized.  He was barely six pounds (and a big-sized cat).  The vet (not his own) clearly saw he was not in the best of health.  She couldn't tell if the hip was broken or dislocated, that would have required an X-ray.  No, we said.  No more.  So, now Toby is gone to the Rainbow Bridge, along with Suzy a couple weeks ago.  We have four cats now: Cirrus and her three kids: Eddie, Abita, and LuLu.

Today we are in recovery/healing mode.  I baked some 'crackers' (pieces of swiss and provolone cheese, salted a little and baked till they crisp up/brown up) - low carb.  Dh has been playing his bass, working on a new technique.  I am truly sad to have Toby and Suzy gone -- I feel Toby's absence more, for he was a big-personality cat.  Into everything (we had to keep the toilet paper rolls on the 'wrong' way, so he wouldn't unwind every last one of them!) and in your face.  He'd PLOP right down on your shoulders when you were sitting down, and MIAOW, demanding attention.  So smart.

Anyway, today is a quiet day.  Tomorrow we take the Little Dog to get his rabies booster, so we can get his city license (any dog within the city limits, etc. etc. etc.).   Maybe on the weekend we will take oldest ds out for lunch.

It is partly cloudy today, after some rain yesterday -- and some dusting of snow in the mountains.  The eaglets are doing well, growing so fast!

Have a good evening!

G'day.

Work was steady busy but manageable.  Tomorrow the manager is off so I'm hope I don't have a patient assignment so I can do those blasted rounds.

Have some painters coming in to paint the ceiling inside my house where several rooms have stains.  They say it's best to do it right and paint the whole ceiling.  Ugh.  Getting a door painted whiled I'm at it.  Hopefully they don't ghost me and come and do the job.

The roofer is still ghosting me and not finished.  She claims they have to wait two weeks to let the stucco settle and dry.   Fine, but at least put me on the schedule.

Sounds a bit like poutine, though without the cheese curds. I did try that, either in Montreal or in Minneapolis, figured it was obligatory. But then I live in the land of chicken-fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy (which I do enjoy on occasion) so I can't claim to have any high-falutin' dietary habits. In Indiana, the equivalent was the breaded-and-deep-fried pork tenderloin, usually made into a sandwich with a regular-sized hamburger bun and the tenderloin about the size of a salad plate. Hoosiers are also fond of chicken with noodles over mashed potatoes, and I make that every now and then because Hubs loves it.

Though it has been stormy, nothing out of the ordinary. Thank goodness. The next few days will be cool (highs in the high-40s to mid-50s) and cloudy/rainy. Potentially even some snow Saturday night/Sunday morning. Monday back up to 70 and Wednesday to 80.

I'm restless and suppose I will be until I finally get my thoughts down to send to my congressional representatives. Not that any of them are interested in what I think. But I'm so disgusted with the way things are going right now.

Well, guess who never hit the submit button on this yesterday!

Noodles on mashed potatoes? Double carbs! One or the other, okay, but both in the same plate? Overkill.
