GundeRN, thanks very much for the tips. I appreciated the OK on the older/previous edition books. I will check with my instructors, and hopefully for most it will be fine to get the previous edition. There will likely be something missing out even from the latest book...

The tip on studying the right answers was very original to me; maybe it will work for me too! On the CLEP, I will need to follow up on that...I have never come across the possibility of taking these exams...Thank you for bringing it up.

So true about crossing out/ ignoring the wrong answers. I had a study guide for a class with a bunch of practice tests, and I could not believe the number of times I could not remember the correct answer even when the question was identical to the practice test. If I had never read all the answers, I would have been able to pick the correct ones out much easier.

The tip about the NCLEX questions makes so much more sense! Can't tell you how many times I selected the wrong answer on the test because it was my first guess during studying but was the wrong answer! Why would we ever want to read wrong answers? Duh! Thank you!

And I completely agree with the older editions. I've been doing this my whole college career and have never had issues. Great money saver.

The CLEP is an awesome way to save a bunch of money on courses that you probably can easily test out of (with a little prep work), good advice.

Buy the older editions, seriously. I didn't learn this until my last semester. I was too afraid I would miss out on stuff. I didn't.

Clep out. I don't know about your state but we had the option of studying and taking a CLEP test for our psych classes. If you are able to teach yourself by reading you will save a lot of time and money utilizing CLEP.

NCLEX. Don't read the detractors! Go though the study books and mark all the right answers. Then go through and read the questions and right answers. If you don't understand why that is the right answer, read the rational. Don't put all those wrong answers in your head.

It worked for me, take it or leave it.

You have made some very good points! However, my school does not allow you to clep out of any course that is required for their ADN degree. Kinda sucks :/
