What do you guys think about Chamberlain College of Nursing with their 3 yr bsc without summer vacation? Is that a good school for a low income family student? Is that a good school to get a bachelors degree in nursing?
It is a for profit school. Are you aware of what this school charges? You are saying you are low income. Aren't there any community colleges with associate degrees in your area? How much for local BSN at a university?
Because of the fact that tuition and fees for their traditional BSN program is approximately $86,000, I would not recommend this school to a lower income student. The ball and chain of debt will drag you down for years to come.Is that a good school for a low income family student?
However, investor-owned schools tend to market their educational products to prospective pupils in the lower income first-generation college student demographic. Remember that.
I know several people who have gone to Chamberlain and have gotten jobs, but they all complained about how expensive it was. Plus, I am not quite sure how favorably grad schools look at a for-profit such as Chamberlain.
I recommend those who are low income to get into a community college and get a two-year degree first. ADNs are almost always more cost-efficient than straight-out BSN.
