Hi, I am creating a thread for those applying to Thomas Jefferson University's Fact 1 or 2 Program for pre fall 2024. Please feel free to share any concerns, stats, admission process, interview questions, etc!

Hi! I applied early admission and received my acceptance about a month or so ago. I'm super excited, but I'm also torn between another school thats a 15 month program. It's expensive so I'm seeing if I get a scholarship from there first. Any alum of TJU able to comment on what made them choose FACT 1 and if theyd do it again?

@nurse2828 Congratulations on your acceptance! I did also apply to another program which is a longer duration program but starts at an earlier date, I think Jefferson does have a May start I believe.  I do have a family friend that graduated from the program about a year ago and she loved it! She said that Jefferson really does support you through this program, and she did very well. Do you have any information on the interview process and how it was like for you , if you are willing to share?

Yes certainly!

For starters, TJU has such a FAST response time. I applied early admission and I think 1-3 weeks after I applied, I was invited to interview. They had 3 interview dates, all on Wednesday (I think) with different times. I chose the last date due to my work schedule and I wanted to prep. They were supposed to be group interviews, however I'm guessing because I chose the last slot, there was no other students interviewing ? it was just me and one of the admissions reps! They email you the interview questions the day before. I got these

"Why have you chosen nursing over all other health care professions? What three attributes or characteristics do you believe are vital to making a nurse successful? Which of these three do you embody the most and why? What is one accomplishment you are most proud of? Why would you make an excellent nurse?"

This was plenty enough time for me to prep. When I joined the interview, the rep was extremely nice and personable, and we started talking about myself before we delved into the questions. I also had plenty of time to ask her about the program and other questions I had. Then literally that evening, I got an email saying I was admitted. Overall it was a very nice experience, however my perspective may not be *too* reliable as it was intended to be a group interview but my experience was obviously different.

I hope this helps a little!

@nurse2828 Oh wow, I would be so nervous for a one on one interview. Thank you so much for all this information, definitely helps because I do have the interview soon and was a little nervous. If you do end up picking TJU, I look forward to connecting with you as a future classmate! I am not from the Philly area so it will definitely be all new to me. Good luck with everything ? and your scholarship, keep us updated on if you decide to go with TJU!!

You got this, I believe in you! As long as you're confident in nursing and your passions are communicated, don't even worry about the rest. What it seems like theyre looking for is a dedicated individual committed to improving healthcare for folks. Philly has a huge population of disadvantaged people, especially economically. They want someone who wants to be on the frontlines doing that. You also don't have to know EXACTLY what you want to do as a nurse. A general idea is fine, I told them where my interests lay and that these could also be subject to change, especially if I choose to go where the need is.

Take deep breaths, prepare a little Google doc if it helps and practice. Make sure you get a good night's sleep, and go into it thinking about having a conversation! Chances are yours will be a group, so if individual is intimidating to you then you might luck out and get a group! I personally don't like group interviews since they make me more nervous, so mine worked out for me haha. I hope it works out for you too ☺️

@nurse2828 Thank you SO SO much!! You are too kind, I definitely feel a lot more prepared now after all your advice ☺️

Hi , this might be a terrible question but I'm in the process of filling out the application for the Pre-fall 2024 FACT1/2 year program and throughout the application there's no place to submit any information regarding experience/accomplishments or anywhere to submit a resume. I know many applications ask this to show dedication and support your application. Am I just missing where to submit it or do they not ask for it all? And if they don't ask for it do they not want to see it all or is there a way to show them?

Thanks in advance

From what I can recall, there's either a slot toward the end of the application where you submit those documents (CV/resume and essay) pripr to submission, OR its after you turn it in. It should also let you click through each section of the app to review before you submit it. If you don't see it, then I think its after you answer all the questions on the application, then on your main submission page there are options to list your contacts for your letters of rec, your school transcript(s), and the essay. Make sure you answer each question on the application before you turn it in and read it carefully! I would try to pull it up to show you, but I don't think I have access to my account for the application anymore.

Hi all! Just wanted to do a quick update--I've officially placed my deposit for TJU!! So excited to hopefully meet some of yall soon enough!

Thanks! On the application I only see program, academic history, essay, additional information, and recommendations so I'm assuming the place to submit resume and experience is after reviewing? I hope LOL

Hi everyone! I was just checking back to see if any more people replied to this thread. I am confirmed to go to TJU in the fall, and I'm so excited!! I wish there were social groups made for the 2024 start but I don't think anyone has made anything yet ?
