Hey yall! Anyone applying for the Pre-FAll 2021 (begins in May 2021) at TJU at Center City. Feel free to share concerns about stats, the application process, and more!

Thank you! I wish you the best of luck. I remember reading everyone's advice on here prior to my interview and it really helped a lot. You will receive an email 24 hours before your interview with a couple of interview questions to go over. These are the exact questions they asked me, in addition to one other situational/behavioral question. They were 4 other people in my zoom group and we each got asked the same 3-4 questions. After those, we each got a different question. The interviewer went around and gave us that one different question first, so we had time to think of an answer. Here are some of the questions I got: 

Why have you chosen nursing over all other health care professions?

What three attributes or characteristics do you believe are vital to making a nurse successful? 

What is one accomplishment you are most proud of?

Why would you make an excellent nurse?

It really was so casual, you could tell they want you in the program! I heard back 2 days later. Read other people's tips and advice on this page! Good luck.

Congrats to those accepted! And good luck to those who have upcoming interviews or are still waiting! I have my interview the 2nd week of December. All of these tips are extremely helpful! Thank you! Are any of you from NYC? And if so, would you be living on campus or getting an off campus apartment?

Hey! I also have my interview on December 2! I’m from NJ and I would probably end up getting an off campus apartment but it’s not 100% yet

I would definitely get an off campus apartment. I'm not from Philly. But safety is super important to me. I've heard areas like fairmount, old city, northern liberties, rittenhouse (a bit expensive), chinatown, and good options to rent off campus. I am trying to bring a car being that im a few hours out. But if anyone could make suggestions on the parking situation or the best parts to get an off campus that would be much appreciated ! I also believe there is a facebook group for called "Philadelphia Roommates", where alot of young healthcare professionals also look for responsible roommates for off campus housing. Always watch out for possible weridos but still, nice to see whats out there.

I’d look into south philly for “off campus” rentals. My boyfriends family owns a building with an apartment that we (luckily) live in and it’s such a great safe area. I’m maybe 3 miles from main campus Jefferson. I nanny in northern lib and know the area well so you’re definitely going to be paying a bit more to live there. Stay north of Oregon Ave and west of broad and it’s a great family area. 2 min walk from Jefferson south philly hospital if that helps picture the area. 

Also, I’d use the fb group to find other members of the class that might need a roommate.. might be better and safer to roomie with a classmate than a stranger!

Parking is also free in most areas of south philly. Just street parking but I’ve never had any issues with break ins or damage. If I’m home before 10pm I always find a spot right in front of my apartment. Hope that helps :)

so south philly, noted. you all wouldn’t recommend the on-campus housing that’s offered by jefferson? can I ask why?
