Hey yall! Anyone applying for the Pre-FAll 2021 (begins in May 2021) at TJU at Center City. Feel free to share concerns about stats, the application process, and more!

I got accepted! ? waiting to hear back from Villanova before deciding, eek!

OMG, that's awesome congratulations! what were your stats? And when did you submit, hear back for an interview, and get the acceptance?

Thank you! Submitted 6/29, Invited for interview 8/5, interviewed 9/2, and just heard today, 9/22.

I think my LOR and interviews got me in because my stats didn't make me stand out (or so I don’t think). Undergrad in neuroscience, 3.1 GPA. Did most nursing Pre-reqs afterwards and have a 3.9 in those, definitely turned my study habits around which I’m sure was noticed. I've worked on a med surg floor as a tech for 1 year and have gotten amazing experiences there which I was able to talk about in essays/interview. The whole process took so long I was convinced I didn’t get in, so I was pleasantly shocked today!

OMG ! are you kidding me you're a STAND out applicant with that prereq GPA. I'm so happpy for you, are you going to go to Jefferson if you hear back from Villanova!

Did you have retakes?

And how many letters of rec did you hand in and were any of them nurses?

What were some examples of interview questions that you were asked?

Haha thank you! I grew up a lot from undergrad and settled down to take school seriously. Yes I had a couple retakes during undergrad but from what I can remember I don’t think any of them were my pre-reqs so maybe that helped. I think I submitted three letters and they were all from nurses (one coworker, my manager, and nurse educator for my floor) because I work in a hospital and got to know everyone well.

I think I’ll still go to Jeff because it’s more affordable than Nova, but they have an amazing program too so I’ll definitely a little conflicted if that’s the case!

For the interview they went over the program, then broke into groups of 4-5, asked each person about their background, then about qualities of a good nurse (and which one you embody most), and at the end everyone got a personalized question. *they emailed beforehand examples of questions they'd

ask, I suggest writing out your answers so you know them for the interview* I honestly forget my solo question I think it was name a time you had to advocate for a patient/someone else. Other ones were like name a time you didn’t get along with a coworker, etc. obviously 1:1 interviews would be preferred but I still felt like I had plenty of time to say what was on my mind. It took 45-55 mins total.

I sent my deposit to Drexel for Spring 2021 accelerated nursing but just received an email today from Jefferson for an interview. (I applied in August). I think I will have the interview but does anyone have any advice or comparison between Drexel and Jeffersons programs? Did anyone else apply to both!

OMG that so exciting! Congratulations. I applied to both TJU and Drexel (and Holy Family) as well. Im not from PA, so I don't really know much about either school tbh (I'm coming from out of state). I haven't heard back from Drexel yet, what date did you submit and hear back from both Drexel and TJU.

And what were your stats ?

I just received my acceptance to both Holy Family and TJ! Definitely excited but waiting to hear back from Drexel and Rutgers before I make any decisions.

Wait OMG really, when did you submit your application for holy family and what date did you hear back ? Also did you apply to HFU fall 2021?

I submitted in early August but it was incomplete. I finished up the last pre-req I needed at end of August, sent in my transcript and heard back from them only a few day’s after they received it.

I also was accepted to HFU. I sent in all my apps in August as well
