I only found this board recently and I'd just like to say, I really am enjoying it and think it's a terrific outlet for stress and to have those burning questions answered. I read just about all the posts and there is a lot of super nurses posting here. I see a lot of humor and frustration, courage and strength, many emotions BUT most of all, I can feel the caring. This is a rough profession we have chosen. I know all jobs are stressful in their own way. But when you deal with human life, it's unlike any other job. So much depends on each move we make. And even the simplist task can mean so much to someone. I quite honestly could never work in a hospital setting, it's just not my "cup of tea" but I have been on the other side of the bed and I greatly admire those of you that do keep our hospitals a safer and better place to be. Let's face it, we'll never be paid what we're really worth, but I honestly believe we will have an extra star in our crown, for not everyone can do what we do and keep their sanity. I have to laugh because sometimes I feel like I'm loosing my mind when I've got a doctor on the phone, a patient on the floor and a staff member trying to get my attention to give "Gramma a shot" cause she's tearing off her clothes in the lobby again. As nurse's, God gave us the ability to function in ten places at the same time, and all we can pray for is that we make only small mistakes, that harms no one. We aren't perfect but let most folks do what we do, and they'd put us up for "Saint of the Year". So as one nurse to another, I'd just like to say, "Thank you" for all the nurses in all the different fields, you are all great and the world is brighter, just because you are in it. May the good Lord bless you all and "Keep on posting cause I love reading them everynight when I get home".

Hey, Duckie, thank you for your lovely post! I have enjoyed this site also (THANK YOU, BRIAN SHORT, FOR SETTING IT UP) since I found it. There are times we do gripe, complain, and b**** about our jobs and what we do, but I agree- the caring does come through most of the messages. I just wish that those that are unhappy in their workplace could find a place that fits them better. I do wish that God would have granted us several more arms and ears and even brains to deal with the situations we find ourselves in- since there IS a shortage; it would be handier to have extra body parts to help out. I've ended up on 2 telephones at once with docs on both phones giving orders more than once recently; and this is while the patient is unstable; so it is a strange time to be a nurse these days. I'm just glad that my co-workers are as great as they are. I work (and have worked) with some of the best people in the world.

Greetings Brian, and ALL Nurses,
Brian, this is a great site and it is not just the feeling of being with so many caring people and all that comes with that secure feeling like home! But as a fellow html writer for my web site you really know you how to do code and make the site interactive! I have a search engine for my site and it does nothing like yours does, I mean yours is inclusive and mine does not read the text just the meta tag. The list of why this site is so great could go on and on, but I do not want to give you a big head, he, he,
I really like the way you have it set up to communicate with other nurses, the chat, private e. mails/messages, and links to our sites you are not intimidated by other peoples sites and I like that about you!
I recently found this site but it now a daily stop for me and that is becuase it is packed with great nurses, great information, and the ease of utilizing the tools on the site. Keep up the great work, there is a special place for you in heaven!
:) Peace,
Have a Blessed Day,
Jami
