One semester to go!!!!
I just kicked butt on my last nursing exam for the semester and picked up my books for my last semester of nursing school today! I am beginning to get quietly excited as that distantly light is getting brighter. OB/Peds, I'm not interested in you, but here I come anyway!!
My simple plan, which I have followed to the letter, has served me well. So has this:
- Don't let anyone or anything get in the way of your goal.
- When you think you can't do something, you WON'T.
When you think you CAN, you WILL.
Good luck to all who are taking their finals this week, and heading in to their well-deserved Christmas breaks. To my WCCCC comrades, we rock! To my HFCC fabulous friend, you rock too!! Aw, heck, we ALL rock!!!!
What are you guys talkin about? Aunt Nana, is this the one we were talking about? I did apply for that one. I thought it was $1,000 one time. Is there another? The $1,000 would take care of me for the remainder of Nsing school, but the other $$ would help. Sista got loans......:rollThe loan isD,
I think so. Check on webgate, you'll see. It's 4K a year, you have to work in the state for 1 yr for every year you accept it. If something happens--like you skip town, they'll treat it as a loan. http://www.michigan.gov/mistudentaid/0,1607,7-128-1724-54524--,00.html
I had also applied for loans & they sent my second disbursement back & will send the rest of the scholarship instead. check on webgate.
the no worker left behind program
the goal of no worker left behind is to double the number of michiganians trained for family-sustaining jobs in demand in the 21st century knowledge economy. that is, to train 100,000 people over the next three years.
no worker left behind represents a reorganization, augmentation and rebranding of michigan's workforce programs, not something altogether new. no worker left behind funding includes all public monies used for training, including state and federal dollars. the no worker left behind (nwlb) plan will help more than 100,000 displaced workers by: providing up to two years free tuition at any michigan community college or other approved training program;
allowing displaced workers to receive needed training in high demand skills while receiving unemployment benefits.
[color=yellow]qualified participants will be eligible for up to $5,000 per year and up to $10,000 per person. this is a one-time offer and the initiative is operating on a first come, first served basis. all eligible individuals will have up to three years to sign up for no worker left behind. the starting point for determining eligibility for no worker left behind is your local michigan works! agency office. for a listing of the nearest office, please visit this website http://www.michiganworks.org and refer to the listing on the right hand side of the first page or phone 1-800-285-works (9675).

Lotus, you say in M/S 3 you only had 3-4 chaps....BUT in M/S 2 we only had what 6-8 chapters (I am not pulling that darn book out right now to see for sure) but those chapters were HELLOFA Mutha chapters. For OB, I just blacked out with all those chapters. How many did we have? 60 chapters? Did I mention I am done with the 2nd semester? :biere::smiley_aa I feel like I won the lottery.
I hear ya sista, what a semester it was....glad it's over, c ya on Monday..
Hey ya Steph, How did it go in lottery for you? I have Psych first with Cook, then I have Giles at Harper. I am soooo happy to be back at my home base:balloons:.
What is up with reading the first 6 chapters before class? I do plan on doing the readings, but I am wondering, is there some kind of test the 1st day?:uhoh21:
Okay, about these visits and paperwork...."In Psych you have two very long careplans with bib cards (these are not the same as what you've done before), two assessments(long), Client interaction paper, self assessment(6-8 pages), community visit where you have to visit a community agency and write a paper, Court visit paper, and make a teaching plan for the patients. "
Is the community visit and court visit within our clinical time or do we have to do it on our own? What should we take our first day? Show up in our uniform?
I want to restand get my mind off of this, but my mind is running 100 mph, I need to chill so I don't crash! We are leaving for vacation on Friday....no books or allnurses, just my family.

Hey,
Well we had a "quiz" over chapter 3 the 2nd week. The first week she wasn't there. It was over neurotransmitters and the psychtropic drugs. Make sure you understand serotonin, dopamine, epinephrine, and GABA, their role in the brain and how the drugs affect them.
You dress in casual business clothes for clinical. No jeans, tennis shoes, etc. I just recycled the same brown, tan, and black pants throughout. You're lucky you got Dr. Cook. You'll be fine. Next semester is going to FLYYY!
I had to have my husband proxy for me at lottery and I was picked third from last:o. So I got Dean Fields and Mrs. Gafford for clinical. So I'm at Receiving and Childrens.
