thinking of going into nursing, but what will the market be like?

Nurses Career Support

Hi guys this is my first post on here, been creeping for a few days lol I just completed my psw diploma and passed with gonours, I'm planning on moving to Calgary and doing the bachelors instead of the diploma (even though I'm so in debt) because I'm wondering if the market is over saturated with LPN's because it is two years. It would be perfect bcoz I know bow valley have a transfer program from psw.

I've been seeing post about the nursing market isn't in need and that kinda scares me, I haven't applied to any schools just yet ( I don't know if I'd get in with my British qualification) or done any pre reqs, in fact I'm not sure how to go about nursing school at all and what happens when ur in school.

Could anyone share info on the future market (next 5 yrs ) and if it will be prosperous. And going about a rn degree, would my psw diploma help I also have a palliative care and GPA certificate

Thanks guys

I think we'd all like to know what's going to happen in the nursing market in 5 years. I bet in 2006 no one thought it would tank like in did in 2008 (in the US). It's impossible to make an accurate projection like that.

I suppose thats true I never thought about it that way. Thanks for the advice!
