They left my love one in the E.R. for....

8 hours waiting for a bed. (a girlfriend's friend told me she didn't like the hospital for that reason)

Now yesterday my g.f. told me..."Scott (her boyfriend's dad) was in the E.R. for 24 hours" (he ended up being admitted)

Do you get people saying this to you? What's your response to them?

When ER holds are complaining cause they don't have a room with a television and remote control, their own phone, and their private bath,..................

Treat them as outpatients !!

If you are able to notice and whine, you have no business

in the ER.

On this, we agree.

My mother waited 16 hours for a bed in CCU when she had her 2nd heart attack. However, she was getting the care she needed in the ER. The ER needs beds instead of gurneys though. Those are so not comfortable and your butt, back gets quite sore after 16 hours on one.

My mother was recently admitted for anemia and waited about 8 hours for a bed. I'm glad she was going to telemetry (her cardiologist always has her admitted to CCU or telemetry) becuase med-surg would have been even longer that day.

I personally don't see the point of complaining. If there are no beds, there are no beds.
