The waiting game...

Who else is on waiting on a nursing school spot? Where are you on the waitlist at, and how long have you been on the waitlist?

I'm on the MCCD waitlist, have been since the beginning of the year.

I applied in Summer of '07, the June window. I finished my last prereq in August, and I got into PVCC in January. I volunteer at JCL, I started volunteering in April, so I hadn't spent a long period of time volunteering. I got one of the affiliate slots from them. I am now happily in Block I, and after hearing from the other students in my class who waited, I feel especially grateful. I understand that even the affiliate slots at Scottsdale have a waiting period for the employees at that hospital. Sunnyslope isn't exactly the best area in Phoenix, but the security is pretty good at JCL NM.

I waited 15 months to get in.. If you really don't want to wait, and really who does- Look into some hosptial work programs- The ones that get you to the top of the list if you work for them and then agree to work while you are in school..(about 16 hrs).. Check out JCL and Scottsdale, the VA used to have something..If you speak Spanish- check out the program at Phx College.. Keep checking the extra programs..Check into Banners programs... the wait stinks! ANd BTW- keep up with your A&P- I wish I remembered more when I got to school... if you can- learn some patho! goodluck!

I thought you had interviewed with the Banner Fellows. Did you get that or just placed through the normal list?

Also, MCCCD just placed 497 applicants for Fall 2008, congrats to those who were placed. Now there are only 1338 on the list, and it looks like I am in the next batch to get placed. I applied Oct 2007.

Me too!!

I was thinking that if they are placing 497 per semester, then that would place us out at least a year with 1338 left. When I applied there were 1558 or so on the list in Oct 2007. How are you coming up with one more semester? I am just curious, not trying to be antagonistic.

I was just placed through the normal system and not Banner. Definitely would have been nice to have my schooling paid for, but I think I can handle it either way :-)

Go to the white board placement. It breaks applicants down by time waiting. There are less than 400 people in line in front of us. Depending on our choices, its very probable that we are in the next group to be placed, that would be Spring 2009.

I don't see the status breakdown. Are you looking at different website?

I am looking at a different website, its the nursing placement whiteboard. I am at work right now, so I don't have the link, but look around on this board and you will find it.
