ORIDA's coastline , from Jacksonville to Miami to Key West to Miami, across the Everglades to Everglades City and explored every island and coast up to Pensacola. For my money, the BIG GUY could draw a vertical line through Florida and toss the eastern half into the Atlantic !
The west coast is where the friendliest/greatest people are, the natural beauty- - the sunsets, beaches, clean cities, clear pale blue surf, marvelous highways and architecturally lovely bridges, all the gorgeous bays, ....
I LOVE FLORIDA !!
This was my first trip there.....
IMHO, the best beach is Siesta Key - a couple of miles west of Sarasota....!!
A close second and third is Destin and Clearwater....
I was in Destin on the 4th.... do those people know how to celebrate or what ??????
I want to share more, but gotta go for now....
Just wanted to let all of you who gave me tips on what to see -- let you know I'm back..... loved little havana and Miami is beautiful and stayed at Miami Beach 2 nites..... ALL of Florida is a feast for the eyes......
but I especially envy everyone in the Sarasota area....

Yeah...I can't wait to move to Bradenton (right above Sarasota) after my ADN. Paradise. :)
It IS Paradise ! I kept thinking to myself, WHY hasn't everyone in the country moved HERE? Especially if you love the out of doors and beaches and water. I love the mountains of Colorado and Wyoming, the canyons of Utah and Arizona, but, I do believe Florida has them beat !
I expected everyone in Florida to be senior citizens..... imagine my surprise ! Lots and lots of young people and children !

i enjoyed reading your post. i lived and worked in the palm beach area of fl for 6 mos. about 2 years ago. i really enjoyed all of the green trees, the rain, the tropical climate. but the one thing that i did not like was the mosquitos. could not be outside for any length of time without one biting me. i found that annoying. was that a problem for you?i am in the desert now. i hate no rain, no trees, but i love no mosquitos. hope to sell my property here and move out there. just trying to find an affordable, safe area. most of it has really gone up in price. it is definatly a good investment as far as real estate is concerned. i think a lot of people are getting on the band wagon and starting to move there. :)

Grayton Beach is my favorite. But Boca Raton is pretty cool, too.

Sarasota beaches are some of the best in the State, if not the entire country. We went to Florida to visit my family .... they live in Sarasota. We spend the week of Spring Break there and had a lot of fun on Siesta Beach. We did a cook out and played in the white sand .... how nice was that! Of course, I got fried ..... the worst sun burn I had in my life .... stupid me did not apply enough sun screen. Not a good thing.
