Hi!! I started this forum for those applying to The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA) for the Fall 2025 Traditional BSN program. I couldn't find any previous forums for the 2025 start term, so hopefully we can all connect here.
For those of you who have gotten in, I'm considering and would like to know your stats on my chances of getting in!
3.67 overall GPA (still taking some more pre-reqs, so it will go up)
In the process of studying for TEAS
Current CNA at a rehab/nursing home and PCT at a hospital
Volunteer at the university's student health center and an officer of a medical-related organization, and a member of HOSA and pre-nursing organizations.
You've built a strong foundation—well done! Just be sure to include all of your clinical experience, volunteer work, leadership roles, and organizational memberships when submitting your application through NursingCAS. Those details matter and can really set you apart. Also, be prepared for the online interview component. As long as you stay on track with your GPA and perform well on the TEAS, you should be in great shape. Best of luck—you've got this!

I think you're in great shape! I wish I could tell you my official GPA, but I don't even know it! My prereqs were all A's & B's (so I essentially just applied and crossed my fingers my GPA was good). LOL most of my science courses are about 8 years old if that is any consolation. Just keep on the same path that you're on. You shouldn't have any issues. I have read, however, that the interview portion plays a major role in their decision-making process so bear that in mind. The website allows you to do multiple practice interview sessions before you submit your official interview. Definitely utilize that. I can't remember what the questions were but they were similarly framed. Just be honest and professional with it and let your GPA speak for itself. You'll be golden!
I've asked my friends who have previously taken the regular route what they think and they all said that if I have to option to go ahead and do it because pharm and OB takes a alot of studying and memorization. So its definitely worth to give up one Summer ☀️
I'm a little eh about the extra 1500 though...
What does everyone else think?
