The University of British Columbia (UBC) BSN 2023 Entry

Published

Hi everybody, I thought I'd create a thread for those who are applying to the UBC BSN program for the 2023 application cycle. Please feel free to drop any questions and share your background/experiences! ?

Last year initial offers went out on May 11. After that, they filled remaining seats on an ongoing basis as people declined.

In this year's info session, they said offers should be going out in May!

Anyone else find it almost debilitating just waiting around until May? I find myself checking my application and messages several times a day even though I know nothing will appear. On the other hand, it's also very exciting! As someone mentioned previously, this year's forum is surprisingly pretty quiet. Regardless, I hope we all get a seat and can meet this Fall ? I don't want to jump the gun too early but maybe we could set up a facebook group after offers go out

I totally get you there. Even though I know they won't update anything till May, I still keep checking too.

Hey! I'm from the 2022 entry cohort and just wanted to let you know that a Discord channel will be set up for the 2023 cohort. facebook may end up being better for your cohort, but 90% of our group communication takes place on discord and it's really well organized!

Same here!! Although I low-key give up already (Not competitive GPA and Casper), I feel like I check student service centre almost everyday LOL.

Did anyone receive Casper scores yet ? How did everyone rank ?

It took 4 weeks to check my results although it is going to be delivered to school in 2 weeks.

Mine was 3rd quartile :(((((((((

I got my results not long after New Years (I took my Casper early December). I got 4th quartile.

I also got 4th!

Hi! :) Waitlisted applicant from last intake here. I never commented in last year's thread but I decided to for this one since the thread is unusually dead LOL. If this is helpful to anyone, I was on the waitlist with the scores of 3 for "Admission Average" (Grades), 2 for "Supplemental Application Score", and 3 for "CASPer Score". At that point in time, I just completed my 2nd year of University and I applied with a 3.65GPA on a 4.33 scale. My CASPer quartile score during then was 3, according to the website. I was honestly kind of surprised that I got waitlisted, considering I am not a degree holder - so if anyone else is in the same boat as me, there's a chance!! I don't think I will be revealing my exact spot on the waitlist, but it was pretty far down. Think 80+.

Anyways, this year I improved my grades and CASper score (4th quartile!), so I am hoping this is my year :) Best of luck to everybody!

Thank you for sharing!! Just clarifying, UBC considers a 1 to be the highest and 4 to be the lowest? CASPer's way of doing quartiles and 4th being the best kind of messes me up haha.
