The University of Alabama Capstone College of Nursing (CCN) Fall 2024 FNP

Anyone applying right now for fall entry? Any current students have any insight into the app process? 

Has anyone heard anything recently? Last email I got was from Vicky on 4/20 with some documents and some instructions for other tasts to do. I also received an email a fee days later for a non required online bama ready now thing. Just want to make sure im not falling behind on stuff. Also, on another note, does anyone know if the courses for online are self paced or are some live lectures where we have to login at a certain time? Thanks.

Hey! I followed @Graceful and @sanchsomie here from the thread called University of Alabama Dual DNP FNP/PMHNP Spring 2025 applicants. 

 

I won't post my big ole long posts from that thread but will give an abbreviated version. LOL! 

I applied to the Dual MSN FNP/PMHNP for Fall 2024. I received my invitation to interview towards the end of April and completed the virtual interview this past Thursday (05/02/2024)…primarily because I overthink things and did a humongous amount of prep trying to get myself ready for it. Anyway...I don't feel badly about it but don't feel great either. I just flat out hated it. I really wish we could have interviewed with a real-life person on zoom or something. After talking with the few folks on the other thread and reading everyone else's here, I am trying to just forget about it and not worry about it at all for at least a week. 

 

I left some information about clinical preceptors on that other thread, if anyone is interested. I was asked how I initiated the conversation with potential preceptors and how I went about finding mine. 

 

If I'm accepted and make it through enrollment, I would like to join that FB group, if that's OK. As I told @Graceful, I don't mind networking, being someone's "phone-a-friend friend", and certainly don't mind having like-minded fellow classmates to support, find support, and share this challenging journey with. 

 

Congratulations to everyone here who has received their acceptances! I know it's a huge relief.

Thank you! I hope you get your answer quickly, we'd love to build our community and support each other through this! Like someone told me usually if you get an interview you've already been accepted. I didn't believe it till it happened to me as I bombed my interview LOL. Wishing you the best of luck and keep us posted!

Hey, all! A ton has happened since I last posted the first part of May. I received my acceptance letter, completed the process for the UDS and background check through Castlebranch, and recently completed my academic advisement meeting in preparation for registering for classes. I just wanted to check in with everyone to see how everyone is doing with maneuvering through the process. If anyone would like, I would love to set up a place for all of us to collaborate and support each other. Any ideas?

Well, I reactivated my FB account and used the link here to request membership to the Facebook group but haven't been accepted. 🤷‍♀️ 

I'm not sure if I got to the correct FB page or not but will attach a screenshot. I'm in the Dual FNP/PMHNP MSN program and will be in the zoom orientations on Wednesday.

Hey! The interview was 5 recorded questions from faculty, 4 of them I had to answer through video, and the last question was a written response. The questions I got focused on past experiences/organizational skills/future plans. It's really not bad! Just answer them honestly and be yourself!

I just started my second semester, it's been tough but it will pay off in the long run! Best of luck to you
